2016 Chevrolet Camaro to debut on May 16th | Fox News |
American garbage

The Camaro ZL2 is being tested, a 396ci Turbocharged V8 that will weigh in the 3,600lb range and the entry level car, that will be in the 3,400lb range... If this is true, I think mustang will have a hard time recovering this generation. With this type of News... I'm sure Ford is hard at work created some salvagable fixes for there bloated chassis and lackluster performance pkg.
The ZL2 is getting high end composite material for the paneling as wel in other areas of the car. The Camaro 6 will definitely be, a force to be wreckoned with "With the snails and the space, the new LT6 small-block provides more torque than even the Z06 Corvette’s 650 lb-ft LT4, yet still allows for high-revving fun—as titanium rods, valves, and keepers reduce both reciprocating and valvetrain weight. We’ve heard that the LT6 uses twin Garrett GT3776 55mm inducer turbos, each good for up to 500 hp. The number we were quoted from an anonymous Pontiac, Michigan, dyno operator was 808 hp at about 8 pounds of boost. We’ve also heard from a supplier that the high-pressure, direct-injection fuel pump from the LT4 will be carried over and additional fueling at WOT comes from an extra set of injectors mounted way upstream to help cool the intake charge. Cylinder heads are the same casting as the LT4, but are CNC ported, a practice gleaned from Chevrolet Performance’s LS3 cylinder-head package for the fifth-gen Camaro." Read more: Exclusive! We Have Performance Numbers on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro ZL2 Follow us: @HotRodMagazine on Twitter | HotRodMag on Facebook The turbos can hold 500hp each and the ZL2 is supposed to be high revving 808 wild horses... Amazing!!! |

wait what?! god dammit chevy. had to go and make the Camaro into a good car right after I sold myself on holding out for the next Z model. this car actually sounds good. a TT v8, CF/aluminum/composites body work and pieces, adjustable rear wing. wtf. |

"American Garbage" :wtf2: :owned: :gtfo2: I think owning both a Z and a camaro are in my cards instead of going high end? It's so hard to decide!!! |

now lets wait and see how true that article is. anymore I have trouble believing anything until it's actually released lol |

BUT!! Chevy rumor said the vette Z06 would be 625hp n 625tq... N we got 650hp/650tq. So im optimistic. Especially that there's a testing photo. Goodbye hellcat, hello ZL2!!! http://image.hotrod.com/f/102341189+...2-spy-shot.jpg |

Add about $3,000/$5,000 to whatever the ZL1 is now. That would be the best educated guess... The next Z/28 should be a N/A beast. My guess, 600hp and a porsche GT-3 competitor? |

probably just north of what i'll be spending on the next gen Z. hmm...... |

But mercedes is whats leading me astray... |

my 2009 with all options sticker was 44,700 I believe. I got the window sticker in the glove box I believe. the next gen Z will hopefully be the same but with the addition of a TTV6 I think it may hop up a bit. |

Ford allegedly claims the Ford mustang Shelby 350 poked holes in the camaro Z/28 Nurburgring lapt times? If that unsubstaniatied rumor is true? The 2017 Camaro ZL2 is gonna murder this car and, it won't even wanna look at the Alpha Z/28. It's gonna be a massacre on mustang and challenger next gen...
Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Allegedly Beats Chevy Camaro Z/28's Nürburgring Time |
Quote:
Plus it seems like these 2 have figured out the perfect plan, the Z/28 has been out for a few years and now comes the Shelby 350 as the Z/28 goes away and when the new gen Z/28 returns the Shelby 350 will have been out a few years. Keep that sales cycle going hard and fast. |
Quote:
Either way, even if the Shelby is $75k like the Z28, The ZL2 is going to be a monster!! A complete beast that will be the nightmare that keeps the competitors awake at night and not wanting to fall asleep. The Camaro ZL2 is basically Freddy Kruger on 4 wheels. lol:tup: |
