And for high 60's, this doesn't look bad at all, to me.
I doubt the $60k Ghibli will be any faster than a 5.0 Mustang or 370Z for that matter....Luxurious & looks good, yes...but nowhere near GT-R or Corvette fast. Completely different target markets. It's an XFR/CTS/S6/M5 competitor and fits right in with that segment.

I bet it would be, but never did I say it'd be near GTR fast. Just saying it looks miles sexier than the GTR and Corvette (C7).

Since we digressed to a quality discussion by origin here is the US ranking from JD power of Cars(not SUV etc)

Top Rated Cars - 2013 Initial Quality Study

35 cars ranked:

Euro models 10 chosen
Asian - 18 models chosen
US - 7

Not bad for these horrible Euro models of which I own one listed(GTi). Asian models continue to do well. I own one listed my- 370Z. Glad I have both spectrums covered

On topic - Maserati sales have exploded(virturally doubled from 2012 numbers), and from what the local dealer tells me they have a good reputation here for quality.

That being said German models are sophisticated(maybe too sophisticated) and in terms of electronics have more issues. The Germans think they do electronics well but in actuality its Asian makers who do the best. Styling wise I think Euro makers do the best in terms of looks.

Jd power initial quality isn't a good metric. I would hope that any car holds up well at first. It's 100k later that I'm concerned about. Since you seem dead set on defending the euro cars, tell me this- would you own a German car out of warranty to 100k miles?

"J.D. Power has released the results of its latest Initial Quality Study (IQS), the company's industry benchmark study that measures new-vehicle quality after the first 90 days of ownership. A key finding of this year's study is that nearly two-thirds of the problems experienced in the first 90 days of ownership are related to the vehicle's design, as opposed to components that malfunction. For example, the component may be working as designed, but owners deem it a problem because it may be difficult to understand or operate"

See? The way they measure quality has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. If you were dead set on a JD Power study, you should have referenced this- http://autos.jdpower.com/ratings/dependability.htm

Oh, except there is only one Euro car on the list.

When owners actually read the manual its amazing what can be learned about one's car LOL!

I could care less how many Euro's are on the list. If it was zero Id still have my GTi or any other EURO car Ive owned. Im happy the Z was on the link I sent out. I will sleep better now......really.

Don't get all bitchy because I pointed out your link was completely irrelevant. Have you tried Midol?

And I hate to be pedantic, but if you "could care less" it means you care. You were looking for "couldNT care less".

well, to be blunt, the one f-king german design thing they put in the Z is wat killed the car from starting... dreaded steering lock.

Irrelevant to the point they still measure the data LOL. You want their number so you can advise them on that, and on medication for bloating as well LOL!!??

Bitchy? No, that would be you and your mis-guided notion of what a loaner car must mean. I was happy to enlighten you.

As I stated many posts before, name a maker without issues.

Had I listened to a keyboard test driver like you I would not have purchased a number of cars Ive owned and enjoyed.
