"J.D. Power has released the results of its latest Initial Quality Study (IQS), the company's industry benchmark study that measures new-vehicle quality after the first 90 days of ownership. A key finding of this year's study is that nearly two-thirds of the problems experienced in the first 90 days of ownership are related to the vehicle's design, as opposed to components that malfunction. For example, the component may be working as designed, but owners deem it a problem because it may be difficult to understand or operate"

See? The way they measure quality has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. If you were dead set on a JD Power study, you should have referenced this- Top Rated Cars, SUVs & Trucks - Car Reliability Ratings - 2013 Vehicle Dependability Study

Oh, except there is only one Euro car on the list.
When owners actually read the manual its amazing what can be learned about one's car LOL!

I could care less how many Euro's are on the list. If it was zero Id still have my GTi or any other EURO car Ive owned. Im happy the Z was on the link I sent out. I will sleep better now......really.

Don't get all bitchy because I pointed out your link was completely irrelevant. Have you tried Midol?

And I hate to be pedantic, but if you "could care less" it means you care. You were looking for "couldNT care less".

No- more than likely it was cleared in Japan and made in the US:

Huf North America Automotive Parts Manufacturing. A subsidiary of Germany-based Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst Gmbh & Co. KG,Here's their sales line:
"Huffing and puffing won't unlock the door of a car secured by Huf North America Automotive Parts Manufacturing. A subsidiary of Germany-based Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst Gmbh & Co. KG, Huf supplies mechanical and electronic automobile locks and security systems. Its lineup includes lock sets, steering locks, and remote control systems. Operating through three plants, in Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Michigan, the company develops its products in partnership with auto manufacturers such as Chrysler, General Motors, and its largest customer, Ford."

This data found here....
Steering lock:the real manufacturer

Irrelevant to the point they still measure the data LOL. You want their number so you can advise them on that, and on medication for bloating as well LOL!!??

Bitchy? No, that would be you and your mis-guided notion of what a loaner car must mean. I was happy to enlighten you.

As I stated many posts before, name a maker without issues.

Had I listened to a keyboard test driver like you I would not have purchased a number of cars Ive owned and enjoyed.

Initial quality is a retarded metric when you're looking at reliability. They obviously know that, because they have a different study for long term reliability. You haven't enlightened anyone about anything except your need to play Captain Save-A-Ho when the honor of your precious German cars has been besmirched. Keep at it. It is a fact that the reliability of European cars is below that of the Japanese. That's all I said. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that. I'm glad you've enjoyed your German cars. That's fantastic. It's also irrelevant.
