The more of this S550 chassis I see, the more I like it. Can't wait to see some actual full interior pics of the IP and center stack.

EDIT: found some off mustang6g.com

Possible option on the 5.0 GT Track Pack too... or at least I hope lol

m4a1mustang 12-04-2013 11:10 AM

That'd be an expensive option methinks.

DCNISMO 12-04-2013 11:40 AM

mmm...Accord Coupe ran into a Ford Fusion....thats what I see.

Rui Z 12-04-2013 02:50 PM

It looks good. I hope they give some specs tomorrow for the 4 cylinder turbo (hp/tq, weight, mpg estimate, price).

TerribleONE 12-04-2013 02:52 PM

I dont think its bad, however I wouldnt own one

kenchan 12-04-2013 03:23 PM

that roof looks out of place on that body...

m4a1mustang 12-04-2013 03:25 PM

Seems like it fits to me.

Been a mustang fan for as long as I can remember. And I really do not like this design. Looks like a two door Taurus. So glad I bought the Z now and didnt wait

One of my buddies who is a huge mustang guy told me this
Quote:

440hp in the base GT, with better track times than the 2012 Boss. Even better, the Voodoo TT 5.0 will come in the second year of the new chassis. But, like you said, too bad they're ugly. It'll grow on me though.

m4a1mustang 12-04-2013 08:39 PM

I'm holding out for the Voodoo.

Those of you that have known me from the beginning know why...

What power?

I like the toggle switches at the bottom of the center stack. Start the car and toggle sport mode... lol that's going to be fun.

It has fangs!!!! I like the new look, but those fangs bother me alot. Especially when you look at it from an angle.

A pretty good article here: 2015 Ford Mustang Revealed - Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords

nuTinmuch 12-05-2013 01:11 AM

Any word on pricing? I think I read somewhere that the GT will be starting near 35.

b15 12-05-2013 06:58 AM

Hard to judge from pictures but that front end looks huge. Ill reserve judgement until I see it in person.

No word on pricing, but on the Mustang 6G forums they don't think they start that high.

Cmike2780 12-05-2013 08:00 AM

The GT looks better, but I'm still not 100% floored by the design. Can't wait to see one in person. I'd love to see if the driving dynamics is more "sports car" with the lighter weight and independent rear.

The MM&FF article is pretty good. Looks like they changed a ton with the suspension aside from just the new integral link rear suspension. The front was completely redesigned with a double ball joint spindle and two control links like on higher end MacPherson strut cars ala M3, 911.

The chief engineer named the 911 and M3 as benchmarks. The 911 is probably a stretch but I can imagine this being much better to drive than the E92 considering how well the 2011-2014 does against it.

They did say that the V8 GT is faster than the current Boss 302 around a track, so that's quite impressive.

Very impressive. Definitely more excited for the performance aspect.

I really like the roof line, reminds me of the Z.

Same here. I'm glad they brought the fastback style back to the car.

If I were to buy a Voodoo equipped model my plates would be something Labyrinth-related.

Project Dance, Magic Dance here we come... :bowrofl:

Just gathering some of my initial thoughts...

PROs
Love the hidden B-pillar because it cleans up the roofline so much. IMO maybe the biggest single improvement, style-wise.
Love the toggle switches.
The interior actually looks interesting, whereas previous interiors are ugly.
Love the Aston-inspired front end (which is true with other Ford cars, I always have to check out Fusion front ends when they go by).
Tail light bars are back, which you really gotta have.
Rear fender slope is growing on me, but ultimately I doubt I'll care.
That front 1/4 profile from front tip to side door is easily the best view and section.

CONs
The windshield looks like it is being eaten by the hood; I wonder what forward visibility is like when you're constantly looking under that? It really bothers me so far.
Front-end, hood still looks too much like other Ford cars. Sure, the headlamps are meaner, but the rest still look like a Fusion.
From the doors and on to the back, the sides look really boring. So far I've not found an angle that I like from that end. Which is a shame, because the parts I like most on the exterior are found on other, less defining cars.

Ultimately, though, the stories and expectation of excellent performance (greater than boss 302? huge score!) actually make me excited for a Mustang for the first time. Probably not enough to ever get one, but I wouldn't begrudge by buds if they opted for one for the handling/performance reason.

Fell in the love with the exterior almost immediately; just a great design from front to end. It has the right mix of curves and muscular angles - just stunning.

But the interior... it's just not for me? The dashboard kinda reminds me of a truck, for some reason (or the HMMWV I spent 15 months in :( ).
