No numbers have been announced yet (probably won't get them until next spring,) but Ford insists that weight targets "have been met." So roughly 200lbs lighter is likely the case.

An important thing to note with the weight is that while losing 200 lbs, it's also replacing the 115+lbs of unsprung rear axle with a new rear suspension.

Am hearing the IRS is coming from the engineers behind the Fusion model. Took that IRS as the start and then worked from it into the Mustang.

It is using an integral link rear suspension (likely a high-performance evolution from the AWD versions of the CD platform.)

And they redesigned the front. No longer a lower control "A" arm. They are using the dual control link like on a lot of the higher-end MacPherson strut equipped cars... M3, 911, etc.

This thing should turn out to be quite a bargain for what you get. Will definitely have to go test drive one for sh!ts and giggles

That's a bit of a stretch. Accord Coupe and C250 Coupe look alike... Mustang? No.

Also, I owe you stickers.

Nothing irritates me more than people who say ______car looks like "X" car. It happens every time something new comes out. There's only so many ways to bend sheet metal and only so many designs. Design elements can have resemblances and cues, but it's far from plagiarized concepts. It's like a bunch of 4 year olds comparing oranges and apples. Sometimes you just gotta give up and tell them, yes...they're both apples.

My point is, you'll find similarities if that's what you want to see.

What that they're both red, have two doors and 18" wheels? Do share your point with this comparison.

There are many more similarities between the Mustang and Accord profiles posted above. The long front/rear overhangs. The long rear quarter window. The flat rear end. The curvy roof line. The slim headlights that wrap around to the side.
