Do the S5s still need the carbon cleaned off the valves and out of the intake tract often and at the owners expense, or has that been fixed?

Yeah hard to justify paying the new prices on some of those cars. I wouldn't mind a S4 as a "grown up" daily driver but I don't think I would buy one brand spankin' new.

That issue is a bit overblown IMO, certainly doesn't warrant cleaning "often"

The dealers here will do it during the warranty period if it is needed, after that it's on you.

When I looked at S5s a few years back, some owners posted dyno sheets of very significant power loss. 20+whp down after 20k miles or so and Audi didnt consider it a problem until it started running badly.

Oh, you wanted leather and zenons on your $40k "luxury" car? That'll be $15k.

The height of German pricing ridiculousness is that you can option up a 4 cylinder 5 series (528i) in excess of $70k (close to $80k if you add everything).

And yes I have sat in one. I'm 6ft 250 pounds and I LOVE how tiny it is.

I was basing this only on track performance...

and I'm 6"4", too small.

Yes I'm quite a fatty lol. I have a buddy that's gonna be training me soon and if I stick with it should drop 20 pounds in 6 weeks

To this fitness thread with this conversation but losing 20 pounds in 1.5 months is not the way you want to lose weight.

Since when? BMI of 19 is like 140lbs at 6'. I know you are shorter/heavier.

Yeah, it is brutal. Great value if you can find one that is like 1 year old traded in by a trophy wife that didn't like it. I just need to find one of those with the options I like. Saw one that had 5k miles and was 6 months old, flawless...40% off sticker:yum:

:iagree: these cars depreciate fast so makes sense just to get a lightly used one.

i remember seeing a m5 going for 90K new, and one that was like 2yrs old with less than 25k miles was going for $55k+ at carmax. wow... 35K loss in 2yrs? :eekdance:

I bought a 540i M-sport 6MT (poor man's M5) that was 6 years old in great shape for 11% of the sticker price. Put 200,000 bonus miles on it and sold it (still running well) for 8% of sticker.

I agree 20lbs in 6 weeks is bad for the body.. unless you are like 400lbs.. then it's a drop in th bucket..

sorry 19% body fat.. not exactly track star.. but no obese.. I am sub 200lbs..I will hit 175 soon
