I'm actually moderately impressed with the driver in the second vid. (after his obvious screw up) He straightened the wheel for impact and held onto it even after the airbag deployed.

He could have rolled that thing if he had tried to "hold" the turn.
He's definitely a kid. I don't think it's the same guy as the 1st vid, though.

As for holding on to the wheel, I don't think he had enough time to really do anything else.
