Nah, the 500 was a Taurus replacement. The last 2 years of production the car was renamed to the Taurus/Sable again.

It's kinda fuzzy I guess. The fusion slotted in under the Taurus and the 500 slotted in between the Taurus and crown Vic.

They tried to replace our fleet Vic's with 500s and replaced the fleet Taurus' with fusions.

The Taurus was a mid-size car until they built if off the 500, and it only became classified as a full-size in 08

This is at least better; maybe just a better angle than the earlier pic. Ultimately, I could live with this and not feel like I need to make a face each time I see it.

The joke would be how a Taurus and a Camaro crashed together just as they are both struck by lightning and this popped out. Maybe with a Charger nearby looking on.

Definitely better, but to me, these designs aren't very cutting edge for 21st century sports cars. I'm really expecting cars in the $30k-60k range to step up on external design. The stang looks like an accord coupe with a more aggressive front. Not a huge fan thus far.

This body style they have now is just awful - I didn't even consider a Mustang when buying. I could care less if it put out 700HP and cost $20k, I still would have thought it ugly and moved on.

Still needs refinement for sure.

And Ford needs to axe the Aston Martin front fascia (more noticeable in other renderings). That's reserved for Aston Martin alone, damn it.

I do agree the current design gotta go. I admire mustang performance. Hearing one drive by with an exhaust impresses me. But the looks are horrendous, The interior incites nausea and the wheel pkg's suck. I honestly don't consider the v8 version much of a bargain either from a general standpoint. Considering the cost of SRA, Mustang should be able to keep this car base msrp floating at $29,000-30,000. Also, track pack should be standard if it's going to be priced where it is.

Don't get it twisted, i don't think it's expensive vs the competition. It's still a bargain in comparison. Just that with SRA, it can still have room to be cheaper from a value perspective. probably $3000-3500 cheaper than camaro instead of 1500. But so can most other sports cars too. I think sports cars today are generally overpriced. We're getting less for more these days in the sports car arena.

I think the next gen mustang will lead in value like it has in the past.

I've owned one. 1999 Explorer Sport. It was an abomination. But it let me pull my jet skis. Gentlemen, the only thing better for attracting trim in college than a sports car is a pair of jet skis. I'll still probably never own another Ford, but that one made good memories.

I never say never cuz you just never know man. I really like what they've done with the focus ST. I like the ecoboost potential of the next mustang. But honestly, my sights are on other vehicles first. But ford's finally doing some big things i respect. big enough to give the nod of consideration.
