So much talk of the C7 lately, i feel like it's outdated already. You should wait for the C8in 2021.

I rather get the camaro. And im waiting only because we are about 24 months away from the next gen camaro and im very happy with my Z. Waiting also allows me to keep my Z.
The Camaro next gen Camaro is also my contingency car, if the next gen Z doesn't impress me. The way things are going in nissan as a whole... I dont think the Z35 is going to do much for me in terms of excitement.

I expected this result, only because, everyone is saying the 1LE is comparable to the BOSS 302 for $10k less and more planted. They keep saying more planted than the stang. IRS of course WINS!!!

Wonder how much of the difference in lap times can be accounted for by the difference in tire size/model.

Not sure but i'm pretty sure the majority of it is the wider range of tuning capability for IRS vs LA suspension and the type of track they were on. Willow is very curvy. IRS will have the advantage.

C6 = high 20's right now. It's the most car for your money if you don't care about the interior, and if you're looking at a Camaro, well...you obviously don't.

I'm looking to the '15 mustang. My car is wrecked and I'm just holding out to see:
How well it's fixed.
If I still feel happy driving it.

If I do, and it's great, I'll drive it into the ground and have no note for a while. If not, '15 GT looks nice. Ford is fixing the "edgy" styling to flow more (taste), and going IRS, and their interiors are already very respectable.

I'll be looking at the next gen 5.0 and the C7 as possible next cars. Which one I pick depends on the specs of both cars and what my needs are in like 2 years. Most likely the Mustang since it would be a better DD and cheaper as well. I'll probably throw the next gen Camaro into the mix too if it turns out well.

Impressive performance from the Camaro.

Still not a fan of the looks tho'. Sure wish they'd bring back the Firebird

I was looking for a SRT8 comparo when i found this
2012 Boss 302 vs. 2010 Camaro SS on Road Course - AmericanMuscle.com - YouTube

and this...

and this...

The final review. He hits it on the head with the mustang. You feel like you're sitting on it instead of in it. SEATING position has always been the biggest deal breaker for me.

It's much less about IRS and much more about tires and a better shock package on the Camaro.

"Willow is very curvy. IRS will have the advantage."

Explain to me how?

IRS can typically achieve higher mid corner speeds than SRA (hello camber gain and bumpsteer), but solid axles have inherent advantages at corner entry and exit. It is generally very difficult to make an IRS system outperform a solid axle at all three points. The biggest difference between IRS/SRA on track is going to be the unsprung weight disadvantage of the solid axle.

IRS or not, the Camaro has the superior tire and shock package. There's no getting around that.

Oh, and I don't have a solid axle car anymore so don't call me a fanboi.

You lost me with the fanboi comment.

Your explanation is why i thought the camaro won. The track looked like it was designed where entry and exit was more important than midcorner speeds on this "particular track" It wasn't that it was curvy that gave the camaro the advantage, it was more like the type of curve. I know the mustang has "the advantage on many types of tracks. But Willow just looked like on film like IRS would have an advantage on that track.

I was specific in saying IRS had an advantage on "THAT" track, but you went and jumped the gun thinking I was generalizing. FANBOY REACTION!!!

Oh you're right about the camaro having a better shock and tire set-up and that is the GENERAL advantage on the camaro. Live axle is the general advantage of the mustang being a track car...

Sorry i didn't explain what i mean, when i said it's very curvy, maybe i should have elaborated but... Damn.
