I like idea of the Abarth however these cars are more prone to roll overs in crashes due to their short wheel base and tall CG. We have seen several rollovers with New Abarths at track already.

You may have mixed up the 500 Sport with the Abarth. The Abarths have only been in the U.S. for about a month now. The 500 was available starting in March of 2011. The SCCA didn't allow the 500 as I understand it in certain categories because of their formula for roll over potential. The Abarth is lower than the 500, with beefed up suspension. They've been racing Abarths though in Europe for several years now.

No I'm referring to Abarth series in Europe that has been going on for some time now.. Lots of rollovers. These cars see lots of time on their roofs.

Just make sure you have a good rollbar and harnesses.

Yeah, I've seen all those videos from Europe. Don't think I need to worry at all since I won't be in the mix like that.

Just be careful and you shouldn't have any problems. You have a little bit to worry about if you understand physics and like to drive fast. I wouldn't put sticky tires on one! It's just physics that short tall stance causes instability. Wouldn't ever want to go off track side ways. I was a big ECho/Yaris fan and developed my car like race cars in Europe. Very fun but definitely tippy. Heck one of those rollovers guy just hit rumble strip too fast! Yikes!
