Sounds and looks good on the forum, all until you're cruising in your Scion TC and an LFA rolls up next to you. I highly doubt the owner will have a sudden sense of being ripped off.

Why not? The fastest production car in the world around the 'ring is front-engine/rear-drive.

I thought the Radical SR8 currently holds the record, not that you would really call it a production car. The Gumpert Apollo in 2nd/3rd, the Viper ACR is a close 3rd/4th and Lexus LFA Nurburgring a few ticks behind that. I guess the point is, it doesn't really matter as long as the chassis is tuned properly and the right driver behind the wheel. The "magical" 50/50 weight distribution can be achieved with the engine in front of, or behind the driver. Most mid-mounted exotics are closer around 42/58, with exceptions of course.
