People are mentioning $86k to $150k, but is that what these numbers really mean? Maybe some other press release makes the prices more clear.

It's from a Japanese press release and it's in millions. What do you mean?

Although the exchange rate of the yen to dollar changes day to day the rule of thumb is to take the last two 0s off the yen price and that will get you into the ballpark of the dollar amount.

So
¥100 is around $1

Oh okay. I didn't know people were still using the 100-to-1 ratio, but it is now around 77 to 1. If those are in yen, the prices in dollars are:

GT-R Pure edition $112k
GT-R Black edition $122k
GT-R Premium edition $124k
GT-R EGOIST $193k

But I'm guessing they will adjust these down for the US market, and may end up at $85k and $150k anyway.

yea i believe it's cheaper (mathematically at least) to buy a GTR here than it is anywhere else in the world, which is saying something since they are made in japan...

Yeah I haven't been in Japan for a few years and didn't look up the current exchange rate but the point these cars at those prices are not available to everyone.

us prices will be about 94K for the premium and over 100K for the black... about a 3-5K increase from last year

the GTR is more expensive now in both the UK and japan... converted to US dollars their cars are 120K+

Hopefully it will make for a price drop on the 2012's though. Do you know when the last model year is suppose to be?

There was a law in Japan that they referred to as "dumping". I read about it involving play station. Basically a Japanese company can not sell products that they sell in japan at a significant cheaper price in other countries. It is to protect Japanese consumers. So if the GTR is cheaper here in the states than Nissan would have to justify why if the Government of Japan pursued charges.
