One of the things that I prefer about the 370Z's styling over the Mustang is that it is more distinct.

Now, please understand that I'm placing this in the context of aesthetic design, so I'm not saying, "dur hur exclusivity" or "the mustang isn't fast". Those are not where I'm going with this.

But when I see a 370 from a distance, I think it's either a 350-370, or it's a Porsche, maybe a Vette, but that's pretty much it. It's a sleek, low-slung two seater, and that's the design that I love.

When I see a Mustang from a distance, it does not stick out as much to me. I do see many more of them on the road, so the design has aged more quickly to me. Also, they are a larger four seat coupe. There are a lot of large, four seat coupes that have roughly the same body size, including Camaros, Accords, and most other coupes on the road.

So, in my view, the Mustang is less distinct and maybe less daring than the 370's design. The 370 looks like a budget exotic. The Ford is American Muscle. It's more about how it runs on a track than what it looks like in a showroom.
