Don't a lot of people raise the rev limit to 7500? How safe is that?

) but is it worth it to raise the rev limit on the Z and to how much? Will probably need an UpRev tune after I get HFCs early next year so I'm trying to figure out everything I want to get done with the UpRev.

Mine is currently set to 7800 with my UpRev. I know some people set it to 8000.

Do you think its made a significant or worthwhile difference? I only want to do it if it makes a difference and is relatively safe. If I do have it raised, I won't even go that high very often. Just when I'm at the drag strip or doing some spirited driving.

Tuning your car is never relatively safe.

Well since the Z is making all its power up high I dont mind being able to rev it a bit more. I kinda wish I went to 8k so I had more but I hit my limiter kinda often so I suppose its a bit safer, for me, to have it at 7800. I dont personally see a prob w it set that high and I have yet to hear anyone mention it being a problem either. All in all I dont think it makes much difference but its nice to be able to take it there if you want to, just personal preference I suppose. You wont regret gettin the UpRev though, its AWESOME.

Not sure how safe 7,500 is. I wouldn't feel comfortable spending a lot of time up there. My limiter was bumped up to 7,300.

Just curious what is "safe"...seen guys at 7750 on regular 5.0s that seem to work....then again, I revved a stroked f20 to 11k hundreds of times with no issues, other guys blow em up with one rev to 9500.... I guess the 7300 limit you run sounds like a good compromise. Plus if your engine blows up, I can lower mind.

^^^ This (and the stock rev limiter kicks in around 6850).
Intake + tune and she pulls like a motherf*cker to [insert new redline here].

Yeah, it did. With the Steeda intake (and any other brand intake) that flows significantly more air than stock you really gain a lot of power up top. The car pulls hard to redline.
