The 2011 is really a great car, but I can't see myself buying one since I bought & modded my Z. It would be like buying my Z all over again & losing all the money I spent in mods.

Don't mod the wrx lol

I need to get the front redetailed to get some grime off again and I hope to clear bra as well. We'll see...

Stage 2 = downpipe or exhaust + tune (it's not very clear...but the last 3 people (including Spec Jay) say DP, so I'll buy that. Phelan, I got 24" hood (to top of hood scoop), full front bumper, front fenders, mirrors luggage strip and fog lights done for $600.

Spec Jay, our window for leaves changing color and falling is so small (2 weeks). I much prefer the slower and later transition in Seattle.

Stage 2 is ONLY the downpipe and tune. Having a CBE is optional but not required. A lot of Suby guys will run a downpipe with the stock CBE to keep it quieter.

For the guy that mentioned having an intake, actually Cobb doesn't even recommend an intake with their tune. You'll find a lot of guys with modded Suby's are still using the stock intake because it's better than 99% of the aftermarket intakes out there. Those that do have aftermarket intakes typically have a custom tune.

Miss my old Suby and have considered getting the new STI. Actually the exact same spec one pictured here (rally blue STI sedan). I think for now I'm just going to stick with the Z and wait to see what comes out over the next year or so. The new C7 Vette and the new 2013 STI have my interest peaked; as does my curiosity to what Nissan will do with the next gen Z.

? wrx didn't change other than some minor exterior.

the 2012 base impreza...yeah that's totally different now lol

about intakes - i saw on the cobb AP they have maps for the AEM intake, and their own intake, but i agree, after further research it seems intake is a massive waste.

not that i was going to do anything to this car beyond stage 1 anyway...

Yup, 2012 Impreza = yuck! Plain-Jane and Accord-wannabe.

day 17 of ownership: fully broken in, finally got the taps fully open...i came in to work with a humongous grin on my face :rofl2:

side note: i need some better pedals, i think. my foot slips off the clutch way too easily; there's just no grip on this thing. i'd be reversing into a parking spot, and a few adjustments later, my foot will be hovering on the clutch because my foot moved around.

is it like that on the STi?

djpathfinder 10-11-2011 01:52 PM

I agree about the pedals...they get slippery. Hard to heel-toe when shoes are wet because it feels like my foot is slipping. I find that the pedals and steering wheel are light... could do with a bit more pressure to operate.

hmm so the STi pedals are slippery too. time to find some aftermarket ones. i've definitely slipped when heel-toeing a few times, messed up my shifts a little.

i agree with the pedals being too light. mot much more i can add.

What color STI? Did you get a tune through Cobb AP? Why was the Cayman S a bad idea for you?

I ended up getting the gun metallic and yea the Cayman was just too small. It was not a good DD for what I need right now. I just have the cobb accesport tune.

yeah, very annoying. if your shoes are even slightly damp it's ridiculous....
if you run across any good pedals let me know.
