as said earlier, this WILL NOT be a 2700 pound car. Maybe in the late 90's it could have been, but US safety standards will bloat this car similar to the Z. Without the safety equipment, the Z is 3160 pound car. This car will be about 3050 to 3100. Heck, a 08 STi is 3318. Minus 250 pounds for AWD and the extra doors and you are sitting at 3068.

Unless they use lighter weight materials and ballon the cost to $35 to 40k. Then that would be interesting.

It is all the airbag stuff to my knowledge (seats, interior a pillars, steering wheel, passenger air bag, etc). That adds weight. I am not sure if they had to do additional body bracing/bumpers to what was already there or not, but my understanding is that the safety equipment on the 370 is above and beyond the 350 stock for stock.

Maybe someone else can chime in here?

Well you can add most of that 250lbs back in for the Suby version as it will have AWD. Also like you mention saftey regulations are strict now and by 2013 who knows how much more will have to be standard which will increase weight. I'm guessing 3200-3300lbs for this car at the end of the day.
