Modern so called "Muscle" like the 2011 Mustang GT qualify as sports cars. They aren't just straight line cars anymore when they can compete with M3's.

I still feel that the Z, S2k's, and Miatas are truer to the "feel" of a sports car. But a Stang can handle with them, that's for sure. |

Miatas and S2k's are lighter, sure, but I'm referring more to suspension than anything else. Z's feel small and tight and have vurry responsive suspension. Mustangs can as well, but in the one ride I had in a Stang (some f*cking nutjob drove me around), it just felt bigger. Now, because I'm a Z fanboy, I'm going to take back the nice things I've said and say that a Stang isn't a sports car because of SRA. There. See what you've done now? lolol |

Anyway, I agree that the modern stang is both a capable sports car and muscle car and rape wagon |

I'd actually class the new mustang and the Z together before I classed the Z with miata's or S2k's. The Z just feels a lot heavier and less connected to the road, and I think the guys at Ford have really caught up with the current stang. |

I just drove a Z4 for a few days (not the most recent gen, but the one before it). I was surprised with how much more responsive its suspension and steering was than the Z, and I think it's in that same class with the S2k and Miata. But I still feel more connected in the Z than in the Mustang or Camaro (which is like the Queen Mary, so I can't imagine how a Challenger feels)
