I was also doing some research today, some guys on allfordmustangs have posted 12.7's on 3.31 gears, wonder how that is? probably less wheel spin/hop at launch maybe?

which track are you talking about?

I am going this Friday and while I have a goal ET of 12.7 I won't be disappointed if I don't hit that target. It's been a while and I haven't launched this car yet, so I need some seat time. I have LOTS of 17-20 second time slips from my old Mustang. If I felt I blew the launch or messed up a shift I would just coast the remainder of the track. There's no sense in using the car up if you know the run is no good. IMO, it's better to give up and run a 17.9 @ 50 mph than go down trying with a 13.9 @ 115. :icon17: |

Back in el paso. When do I get a drive
|
Haha, well if you cut a poor 60', you just need more practice.
So far it looks like folks are having good results just launching off idle. You can also drop your rear tire pressure a bit for more contact patch on the launch. I will try a few different things on Friday and let you know what I find works the best. |
[QUOTE=Red370;723373]the raceway in Clint, its about 8 miles east on I-10 from El Paso.[/QUOTE

As long as I have a can of that slime crap, a tire repair kit, and compressor I should be alright. :driving: |
Sliicks yes but stock up front.
I guess at this track if your moded car can run under 11.00 you need a cage???? So they told him take it a bit easier or stop racing... |

I hope the build quality has improved over at Ford.
I dumped an 01 GT for my Z and it had 73k on it but it felt like 150k. I love a tourqey V8 as much as the next guy but I can't stand how american cars just simply fall apart just before or definitely after 100k |
