Im sorry good track times, lots of power in it. But I LMAO every time I see guys who drag their cars that are auto! I mean come on where's the skill in punching it and keeping her straight?? At least if it was a circuit track then there would be some steering skills needed.......

There's a reason why most all drag racing cars are automatics... And I take it you've never driven a high hp car on a drag strip before. It's not as much of a walk in the park as you make it out to be. |

That's like saying what's the point of taking a really fast car to a drag strip. Theres no skill involved in making a fast car go fast in a straight line. I want to see you get that same time in a stock Nissan versa manual. Now that takes some real skill :p |

Real skill is going sub 10 in a manual.:rofl2: |

Resultz iz Resultz, you can't mess wit dat.:roflpuke2:

I think theres a guy over on the svt forums that posted a sub 10 second pass with the MT82 transmission as well.. lemme look for it..
|
ahh, nevermind, not in the 9's just yet but I have a feeling it'll happen soon. Holy sh!t that supercharger sounds AWESOME!!!!
|
When I hear supercharger whine I just think
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEE It's incredible. |
the tire shredding low end torque that a supercharger puts out gives me a raging boner.
|
Manual car and high horsepower = one wild ride down the strip!

Nice vids! What was the fastest time you hit on the strip with the S2K?
|
I can not imagine getting sideways at 170+mph!

 205 mph sideways  |
Wow, that drift in the first video is off the hook. Wonder how that driver would have scored in D1 haha.
|

Pretty interesting thread, these guys are running 15psi safely on the 5.0, stock internals, 700+ whp, holy fvck this car is full of nothing but potential. And power.

I think calling that safe might be a stretch. Sure it will probably last a while but I would think the stock bottom end would eventually fail. I like to think if Ford will warranty their 525whp kit that is safe, but since they don't warranty the 625whp kit my guess is 700+ wouldn't really be safe. At least in the eyes of Ford.
Have you ordered your kit yet? I go back and forth on wanting one but I think I've decided not to as long as this car is my daily driver. A couple guys that come to our local sports car shows are putting down some nice numbers with bolt ons. One has 420 whp with the Steeda CAI, tune, and Flowmaster cat-back. The other is putting down 430 with CAI/tune/catback plus the Boss manifold. I have the Steeda CAI, Bama SCT tune, FRPP X pipe and FRPP Sport axle-back which should put me somewhere around 410-415 whp which feels pretty nice. I'm not really hurting for anymore power right now. I might throw the Boss manifold on later and call it a day power wise. Maybe I'd go FI later down the road when I pick up a real DD. Right now I want to do a few appearance mods and some suspension stuff. I am going to need to replace the stock Pirelli PZeros later this summer as well. Oh, I also want the Barton shifter and bracket. How's yours going along? |
Oh, are you running a JLT Oil Separator yet?

Dude, in a few years when you pick up a DD, I bet your Stang's gonna be a monster. Can't wait.:yum: |

We'll see how long I keep it. The gf wants a next generation convertible 5.0 to replace her Benz and I want a Porsche. I really like this car and could definitely get behind the idea of turning it into a streetable track car while having a 911 to drive on the daily. |

I considered the Barton SS (canceled my order), however, recent reviews are claiming that its a clunky shifter and hard to get in reverse, I think the factory is bad enough, dont think it'd be good for daily driven use, if i'd get one, it would probably be the Steeda. I plan on attacking the ring like a mad man when I get to Germany in July, so suspension is going to be a must, probably going to go with a Steeda street/track pack. Also, depending whether or not I can get on a deployment, the GT350 is looking mighty tasty to me:yum: |
You should give Sam Strano a call over at stranoparts.com for suspension stuff. He will totally set you up with what you need. I am planning on doing Steeda Sport springs and Koni adjustables but I'm just waiting on the Koni's to get off backorder.
|
Oh yeah, I have heard both great and bad things about the Barton shifter as well. I still think I want to try it but might wait until after I can drive someones's car that has it first. I definitely want the mounting bracket, though, whether I choose their shifter, the Steeda, or stick with the stock one. It seems like if you don't get the reinstallation of the rubber boot just right you can end up with all sorts of issues getting the car into gear, especially reverse.

figured i'd share this with the forum, from Ohio to Oklahoma in the 5.0, running an aggressive race tune. Wow.

Have they fixed the clutch/whatever problem yet?
I saw one the other day and had one of those feelings. |
The feelings I get when I see Mustangs:
1. Indifference over the design already, they're all over my neighborhood 2. a little chub when I hear the exhaust. I think it sounds cool when the v8's take off from a stop. But that's about it. Not enough there to want to trade my Z. |
