"Chevrolet wasn’t kidding when it announced the eighth-generation Corvette would start at less than $60,000, as the mid-engine sports car will go on sale with a base price of $58,900, or $59,995 after a $1,095 destination fee. Yes, the all-new Corvette Stingray costs a mere $3,000 more than the current car.

Nappa leather is VERY expensive
Carbon fiber is very expensive.
That front lift feature while not interrupting track capability will be a high cost feat.

The 458 italia with 578hp gets to 60 in 3.3 sec
The C8 corvette gets to 60 with 495hp at minimum 2.9 seconds...

That proves how much chevy solved for drag transmission tuning and off the line grip. I'm boggled you even made that statement right now!!

TBH, horsepower isn't everything. Yes, I said that.

It's the complete package - performance, handling, styling, interior, transmission, etc.
If you're just looking for horsepower bragging rights at cars & coffee, well, I guess you might do better. Maybe. But you're not going to come up with a better overall package for that money. At least on paper. We'll see what real experience says in a few months.

While we haven't had an actual review set out, we are still allowed to pretend this is the greatest car on planet earf. Made in the USA. You can't mess with these stripes. There's no replacement for displacement. Do it for Dale, drink Mountain Dew, bald eagles under the hood.

Corvette forums set up a thread to create a database of the dealers NOT price gouging. They're trying not to give the markup dealerships business.

They should try this in the mustang forum.
I'd rather wait an extra 2 weeks and order s vette at MSRP out of Pennsylvania than get gouged here in tx. We shouldnt let our desire to have something jade or logic and let us get jerked. Glad to see corvette forum taking a stand

To each his own. I would only get a C8 Z06. The problem is cost. I just about beat a Z06 is going to be 120 to 130k. I built my TT Z for way less than that.
