For them to release a 14% first pass rate is bad enough (makes me wonder what the REAL number is), but then you hear about defective cars being delivered and you have to assume that the situation is even worse.

No wonder Musk is stressed and wants to pack up his toys and go home.
I have no doubt that you cannot be super-human forever. I've tried.
But he is a victim of his own management style. Soon, I fear that the company will be a victim as well. Then what happens to all of that government funding. Poof, gone. Ready for the next con artist to take over at pennies on the dollar, and try to take the taxpayer for another ride???

Makes you question if this is the team you want to back in space flight. Hope somebody checked the panel gap on that air lock...

Oh, and I found this...

https://www.businessinsider.com/elon...rplanes-2018-8

Why Musk stopped flying military jets:

..."But in addition to launching two of the world's most famous startups, Musk also devoted some cash to his love of aviation. He purchased a Piper Meridian single-engine turboprop, a two-engine Cessna Citation CJ2 corporate jet, and a high-speed military jet called the Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros.

The L-39 jet was designed and built during the Cold War in Czechoslovakia, which was a satellite state of the Soviet Union.

...( article goes on to quote some of Musk's flight exploits in the L-39) ...

Despite the thrill of such flights, Musk eventually stopped flying L-39s.

"I was like, man, this was made by some Soviet technician and maybe they tightened the bolt right, or maybe they didn't," Musk said, according to "The Space Barons" book. . It was like, 'This is crazy. I've got kids. I have to stop doing this.'"

Default Tesla model 3 Dual Motor AWD (Track mode)

Just drove the model 3 DM AWD in track mode.A lot of fun.3.3 seconds 0-60.Handeled quite well in track mode.

First model 3 I drove was somewhat of a slug.

I have a friend who has a model S, P 100 D.Breath taking acceleration.2.5
seconds 0-60.

Electric cars are the future and can be wicked fast. The upcoming Tesla roadster would be great but out of my price range.250K before options.

Tesla does not yet build the car I want.

Styling is very bland.Spoiled by the looks of our Z's.Would like MPH and battery life gauges in front of me.Do not like looking over at screen.
Also I could care less about self driving cars.Option I would not want.

I would like a two seat roadster with a sexier body style.Track mode handling.Under 3 second 0- 60.Top end of 170 +.Cruise range of 350 miles.
Price of 120K or less.

May even see a car like this in the future.

I think its just a matter of time before we will be all Electric. I am currently looking to swap my BMW 330 2017 for a 2018 Tesla Model S.

I love the technology and work in IT Software. Unfortunately not all autopilot functions are available here in the Netherlands compared to the USA, due to European law. Also just a matter of time.

Right now I will continue with twin turbocharging my Z. I'll drive it for another 4 or 5 years, by that time I'll switch to something Electric for fun too.

Just imagine the body of an audi TT, 370z or Alfa 4c with the performance of the model 3 in track mode. Unbeatable for any petrol car. Perhaps they will need a second gear to keep accelerate above 120mph.

OP here. i ended up buying the M3 LR. I love it. it's more lux then sport by a mile but it's equally quick. Fast off the line equal to my Z. Top end is slower since all the torque in EV is on the low end but overall it's a nice car so far.

Well stated.
I have gone back and forth on getting a Tesla.I'm in my 60s and may not be able to wait for car I want.
Thinking of pulling the trigger on the roadster and thinning out cars I have.
Hard to make decision with so little info about the production vehicle.

Sincerely hope that the company is still around to build this one for you.
It has the makings of a truly great car - one which stands to best everything else on the road.
