I've driven. Was not impressed at all. Felt very cheaply made... especially at that price point. And that screen was as annoying as living with 15 cats in heat.

I'd never buy the 3, not even with my grandmother's cash. No way.

They're fine. I was also underwhelmed.

I'd never buy one. It's a first generation of a very new car of a very new brand.

If you look around the big automakers, you may be surprised how many electric offerings there are. They just don't have the fanboys Tesla does.

Shouldn't you be on your local electric company or appliance forum asking this question?

I kid

iPad on wheels.
And Tesla wil update your software for you without asking. Just like Microsoft.

I can see why they appeal to a certain group. But I'm not part of the demographic.

They are quiet, and have a great launch. But subject to a lot of niggling issues. And when (not "if") Tesla (the company) fails, I don't know who will maintain the cars and the software.

I did a track day where a Model S (not sure anymore but I think P100 not D) attended.
It was a very clever car in terms of torque vectoring and adaptive suspension. The (heavy) car handled tight corners on street tires at speeds I wasn't comfortable taking my 4C with semi-slicks at. But be clear that it was the car, and not the driver that gets the credit. And after 3 x 20-minute sessions he had to disappear for 90 minutes to find a charger, get a fill, and come back for two more sessions and hope he could make it home.

Access to chargers really depends on where you live. People in SoCal won't understand the legitimate concerns that the rest of the world has about range and finding available chargers (let alone superchargers). Certainly, there are other well-served regions, but there is also a lot of blank space on the map of charging stations. That will only get better with time, but also increase the cost of charging your car. The easy and profitable locations have all been built.

If that sounds like the car for you, then go for it.

You could certainly do worse. But I think there are better options out there for the money.

Well, they're now building the Model 3 in a huge parking lot circus tent in an effort to rush them to market. How good can QC really be?

Tesla's been around since 2003, and still can't turn a profit...

I agree, not if they fail, but when.

Work on making electric semi's and police cars. Make electric furnaces and such. Leave the fossil fuel car alone.

They're already making $12 billion in revenue after 15 years. For reference, Porsche, who tend to be the same demographic oddly enough, make $24 billion and have been around since the 30s. I think they'll be fine. It's not like their cars is their only business, they work with other makers as well.

Kinda strange how you're so pro Kia, who aren't doing anything special other than catching up, but dismiss Tesla who've single-handedly changed the market.

Well, if you're spending 20 billion, for example, to make 12 billion after 15 years, I'm not sure that's something to rally about. And that's with a ton of government support.

That's fine though, we can agree to disagree.

Gross revenue doesn't mean jack when net revenue is in the red...

Honest opinion. car has no soul lol.

Drove one, immediately liked it..... but then 20min in... after the initial excitement calmed down from finally being in one, i quickly realized it wasn't really that amazing, was more hyped up than anything.... The drive was ok, nothing to write home about, . quality is meh. car can launch fast but thats only half the battle for me.. styling of the car is ok, maybe not my personal taste but may be for others...

spent 1 hour talking to my buddy about it and i never realized how much of a hassle it was for people like him to do work or service their Tesla and that the car is constantly connected and communicating with Tesla for allot of the features to work, makes me feel like you dont really own the car.. at least without all the must-needed connection stuff to work if that makes sense?

sooo, the car is nice, its def not an ugly car but for the price tag, i can think of many other cars to get. may not be as fast but for me its not all about speed. Oh the big tablet for your controls is really nice!

I only support motors that make noise n burn gas... Im an enthusiast. Electric cars are boring period. I thought we were enthusiasts here? Not driving a calculator on wheels. My bad. Gas engine or Go home is usually the enthusiast motto.

It's so interesting that I'm impressed with one well built good driving car. As I have the driving experience to have an opinion and the best most of you can say is. " My friends Rio or optima sucks" Have to stress I like the Kia Stinger as some sort of devaluation. And they're catching up to who in the price point? Get in a $44k Stinger Drive it... Then get in something else 44k brand new with 4 doors. N explain to me How Kia is catching up. At 44k. There's the Giulia n the stinger. Everything else gotta catch up at the price. Wake up from your sleep.

But we hatdda bring up. My Kia opinion on a Tesla page. Weakness at its best.

I hadn't seen nor driven one but had done plenty of research on Tesla cars and I think that the specs and tech are there but I'm not a huge fan of the styling. Looks like something out of Demolition Man lol...however the specs and the fanciness of it make it cool..I would say if you love it go for it but at that price point you've got some pretty stiff competition to look at. Good luck with whatever direction you go man!

I couldn't find a competent shop within 100 miles for my 370Z, a Tesla is out of the question.
