In the second or third year of the Type R I'll let the dealer know I have an interest, see what they do. The world of sports cars will be different then, who knows what will be out.

And honestly, I don't want to get another new car until WAZE is offered. Tired of rigging up my phone to use it. Petty I guess but a realistic part of driving these days.
Because that's what is important in a performance car?
Sorry, don't get that.
This is not your father's Civic. It's not an SI. It isn't a poser's car like those some have mentioned. And it IS worth every penny of its asking price. Just not to many people. Most of us only drive to get to work, pick up milk, or take the kids to school or skating. I agree that for these purposes, the Civic Type R is way too much car and is quite overpriced (though still more practical than most in its segment). Also too much money to show off at Cars&Coffee. But if you want something to drive hard on a track, that you can still daily (and leave most of the cars compared to it here in your mirror), it's a definite option. For anyone else, just buy a regular Civic and pick up an "R" badge on ebay for $5. Problem solved.
