If they didn't give it the Supra badge, I think it'd have way better reception.

The Supra badge just has way too much of a reputation to ever live up to it because people have had decades to modify Supras to super car levels by throwing unreal amounts of money at them. From the factory for anyone that remembers, they were really tame and kinda fat, especially for the year. They were GT cars.

The LC500 is more of a "Supra" than this is, in my opinion. It's weird to me they didn't shave that down to put the badge on and sell for $65k, which is what the Supra roughly sold for originally when taking inflation into account.

cool in red but I'm still good with the Z. The 2 seater formula is classic, so it takes a lot of money to beat a Z or any 2 seaters that stick with the format

Honestly it's not the worst looking but it reminds me too much of a BRZ only Lexus style. I'd rather have a 370Z

This. It wasn't until the late '90s / early 2000s that the "OMG Supra!!!!!" really kicked in. When they were still available new at the dealer, they were heavy and expensive.

Also, this should really respond well to mods. That BMW I6TT loves bolt ons and a tune.

Funny, when I saw it reminded me too much of the Z4.....
Just will have to see what happens and the reviews

The 4 banger has a disappointing 194hp @ 3,104lbs. I'm sure it has more torque than an 86. It has a lower COG than the 86 and shorter wheelbase. 97" is Porsche 911 Territory. The handling should be phenomenal?

I've driven BMW with the 8A. It's amazing for what it is. Though a DCT would give it more of a sporty feel... The 8 shifts are very fast and crisp.

The interior of the new Supra is at best bland and at worst an appalling mess. I would encourage my worst enemy to sit in it. Not for me.

NismoGhost57 01-15-2019 10:14 AM

Looks like a bloated Alpha 4C.

It's all subjective, and I have a soft spot for Toyota (my first car, in 1974, was a Celica), but I don't care for the exterior of the new Supra at all. The BMW roadster looks much nicer to me.

I was reading on my Iphone news that two cars were auctioned for charity Barratt-Jackson Auction - Scottsberg.

The first was a 2020 Shelby Mustang. - $1.1 million.

The second was the first 2020 Supra off the production line. - $2.1 million.

I'll take the Mustang. LOL!

Spooler 01-20-2019 06:00 PM

I'll take the Ford GT in the Gulf livery for 2.5 million thank you.

UNKNOWN_370 01-20-2019 06:46 PM

I think it's bias that they don't add a base ZL1. It could be had for $62,000. Not too far off the corvette and fully loaded supra. Or at least the 1LE which is just $45,000
