2018 Toyota Supra

This looks exciting if priced below 50k and looks way better than the new nsx at 4x the price.

New Toyota Supra To Pair Electric Motors With A BMW Engine

Under 50K...highly unlikely.

I have to agree, looks like too much car to be under 50k.

Davey 07-08-2016 06:23 AM

Two predictions...

1. It will be a Lexus
2. It will be well over $70K with any options

MagmaRed370z 07-08-2016 07:11 AM

If this is real then it will be close to 100K.

JC-Nismo 07-08-2016 07:28 AM

This car has been around for a few years now, but needs to be cleaned up a lot before it actually makes production, it still has all of the concept parts on it and will definitely breach the $100k mark.

Slartibartfas 07-08-2016 11:04 AM

Nice profile overall but visually too damned busy.

SwissCheese 07-09-2016 09:39 PM

If they can keep the price down, I'd be interested in getting one. I wonder how much different a production version would look compared to that concept.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the MSRP was on the last-gen Supra?

Spooler 07-09-2016 10:59 PM

How many times are we going to hear the Electric motors and BMW engine crap on different cars...LOL
You guys will believe anything.

UNKNOWN_370 07-12-2016 10:56 AM

Keep it in the same price as the Z and I'll buy a Toyota to rock next to the Z in the garage. I like it.

But I think Toyota is going for wallet rape with this car. I think it will start at $65K n top out at $90K.

/Angelo350Z/ 07-12-2016 01:14 PM

Toyota is the Japanese Buick. The company hasn't made anything exciting, LFA excluded, in the past 20 years. I'll believe it when I see it.

UNKNOWN_370 07-12-2016 01:20 PM

Really looking at that pic. It's identical to the FT1 except in grey....
Toyota already stated that the ft1 won't be built.

Thread is fail.

NissanFreak81 07-12-2016 02:32 PM

Think it will be priced way to high for what it will offer. Though it would have to priced lower that the LC500 which they say will be start at about 100K, don't really see them selling that many of either.

That's an FT1. It won't be built.

ChaseZ 07-13-2016 11:18 AM

Is it an FT1?

Think they will build it?

That particular car they are NOT building but they will use it as inspiration to make this BMW-Toyota sports car that they've been talking about 3 years now. They've been saying since 20!3 they are not building the FT1 yet it keeps coming up in rumor mill articles as if it will. Toyota keeps saying it like every 4 months that it is NOT the vehicle that will be built.

That spot is already taken by the RC F.

It will be a Toyota and will likely be $75K-$100K.

2018 Toyota Supra | car review @ Top Speed

This rendering looks much more realistic to what the Supra may look like....

James10694 07-14-2016 10:13 PM

Funny because I've seen a video of gunmetal FT1 being unloaded off a trailer and driven. It may be 1 of 1 but it was still built.will it make it into production? Who knows.

James10694 07-14-2016 10:16 PM

Sorry it was red. Not sure what is actually under the hood but it's moving on its own. https://youtu.be/aiQGOGFQ66s

sunkist350z 07-17-2016 01:24 PM

Looks like the new supra will be a 100k sports car with shared components with the 7series carbon fiber structure. News news on this car..

100K Toyota. :bowrofl:

BboyZ 07-17-2016 03:24 PM

My guess on price for this one, if this one go to production, would be same as the NSX.

UNKNOWN_370 07-22-2016 05:45 PM

Keep the news up with your threads bruh.... I'm always picking up your slack. Lol

dont forget though, theres the Lexus RC and RCF and then in 2018 there will be the Lexus LC. So they are covering the coupe range from $40k, $70k and $100k so if its a Lexus, what price point will it hit.

I just assume it will be a toyota badge from $60-85k

sunkist350z 09-24-2016 02:18 PM

This looks more like the production version of the new supra. Looks more closer to the concept ft-1.

Whatever that render is worth, it looks pretty good. It reminds me of another Japanese import sports car....

Looks more like a 2018 Z than a supra lol

Which since I haven't read any of the other posts is what I take it you were getting at...

Yep, pretty much. I have also read that the test car sounded like it it was a hybrid.

UNKNOWN_370 09-26-2016 07:38 PM

the front looks exactly like the 90s supra, just modernized. Kool You see FRS/FT1 & original supra in this car.

FYI scion is dead, it s a badged a Toyota gt86 now. I like the front ft1 design kept, but don't like the rear quarter panel of the gt86, a lesser car. Cant judge it yet until I see the production concept, but looks good.

ChaseZ 09-26-2016 10:47 PM

Another view of the FT1. Heard again supposed to essentially be a streamlined for production version of this guy

https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1PUT9R4lJ...s1600/main.jpg

Jordo! 09-27-2016 01:08 AM

It would make the most sense for them to try and compete with the Z35 than try to play in GT-R territory. Pricing between the two is possible, but that's a biiiig gulf.

At first glance the rear reminds me of the Star wars "Storm Troopers" helmet.

BlackZeda 09-27-2016 08:34 AM

The whining and gnashing of teeth has begun because the Supra may have a hybrid drivetrain (option). Yeah, it would really suck to be stuck with all that instant torque and run the same type of power plant that those slow F1 and Le Mans cars do.

It may be quiet, but I dig that jet-like sound!

I know.... it's still a scion in my brain. I saw the production version. It's nice. It's all over YouTube.
