Supra revealed... ???
https://hothardware.com/news/the-202...aked-by-toyota The angle isn't great and the color choice for the picture quality isn't the greatest. For the most part. It looks like the renders. Can't wait to see it in person. I think it'll be like the GTR in the sense that it's nothing spectacular in pics. N then you have one in front of you and you're in awe. |

wonder when it'll be out somewhere so i can maybe see one in person. however, it'll be around $60k and i just dont see it being worth that. i could be swayed to say otherwise post-launch based on seeing one and performance figures. but as it stands now if it is $60k then i'm on the side of it's meh and overpriced. |
Official leaked video of production supra, I like it. Hope they make a manual, as this may be my next sportscar :)

It's just price I'm not into. Like the performance can be what it is, but it's hard to justify paying that much for it unless reviews reveal it's an absolute all-time godsend driving experience.
I mean there's C7's and used Viper's that will float around the price of a loaded model. I can't imagine that being a worthwhile jump from the Z, and it also has to compete with the Cayman to some degree. Can only hope it's not like the NSX, which relies on a bunch of...intangibles of careful engineering that apparently the average Joe is not sold on. |
Also keep in mind that once it hit's the showroom floor, I can guarantee it will have a premium attached to the MSRP!!!

They had $5000 mark ups on the FRS for the first few months. Anyone who paid over 30k for a new frs was a moron. Lol. |
Markups are queer things. They are mainly dealership add-on’s. Yet often-times most of the dealerships in a region strangely do the same thing (even if they are not owned by the same parent). Must be a coincidence, right???
Why the manufacturer condones it, I’ll never understand. They manage costs on manufacturing in order to hit a price point, just to hand more profit to the dealers and potentially kill a well managed product launch. Or in the case of the 4C, a brand re-launch! We saw $20K “market adjustments” from most So-Cal stores when that car launched. Seems that they forgot about the internet, as a year later most of those cars were still on showroom floors whereas dozens of California owners bought from out of state for tens of thousands less. OTOH, consider that the market value of ANY new car is what you could re-sell it for a block away from picking it up at the dealership. Under that lense, almost every car has excessive markup. Nobody is going to cross-shop a Toyota against a Cayman. I feel sick to think a used Viper either, although that’s maybe not impossible. Given the stats, it’s a 370Z 10 years too late. Sure, it has potential to up the performance, but so does the Z. And we KNOW what the transmission choices on the Nissan are. Keen on seeing reports on the release. Anyone who goes, please post impressions. |
Official leaked photos, starting price is 49k for base seems reasonable, only question they do not state of being a manual being offered? Silver looks killer on the new supra.

That interior is a cookie cutter same as of the majority of new cars out there, not to my liking.
|
I like the interior because I'm a fan of spartan things (hence buying a Z), but that's not a $50k dash. It reminds me of a my 2005 Mazda3. Then again, perhaps those are the things they're doing to keep the price down.
That said I still want one if it drives anything like an 86 with power. Love the seats. I look forward to what the facelift updates looks like. You know they're planning various special editions. |
More pictures leaked, I like the rear quarter view as it reminds me of the FD3S which attracts me to the new supra.

I have to agree with Rob on this one.

Base 3.0 six cylinder: $49,990
Premium 3.0 six cylinder: $53,990 Launch edition 3.0 six cylinder: $55,250 This is what I expected in terms of price. Wondering what that launch edition will bring? I'm guessing later on once it's in production we'll see the 4 cylinder. I'm guessing that will start at $40k? If the Z were to come out? I'd expect similar pricing. |
We have a new BRZ, FRS, GT86, whatever. Hurry, run go buy one.
|
.............meh

it's been 21 years since the last supra went extinct.

Here's the real deal photos. They're claiming 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. That's a second faster than the Z with the same power. Though some of us can extract the Z out to 4.6 seconds. I was expecting a higher top speed than 155mph. That's so 2008. Lol. I think it's pretty sharp. The proof is in the drive. I'm gonna wait for certain you tube reviews cuz they are more honest than the magazine's. After all ... The magazine's all said the FRS was the second coming. It was the you tubers that said. It drives nice. But is mad slow |

155 is the usual limit of all cars in the US aside from high end cars where you can pay for unlock tuning from factory. 4.1 is untested by magazines and a manufacturer number. curious if it has launch control as well. the 8 speed tranny may play into this as well. it could be a much better unit (most likely) than the Z. the real error is they didnt give it the BMW DCT. look decent but idk if its the photos but it looks small or like smashed up. the A80 just has that presence when you see it. |
