SuperDave 11-12-2013 09:51 PM

I love it. Do it.

Tempestz 11-13-2013 08:23 AM

CB, I noticed you were on the list for getting a Boosted performancec turbo kita while back? do you have it installed? I am looking into getting one for mine and wanted to talk to you about it a little.

I had a 350z for 3.5 yrs and had a boosted performance turbo kit on it. for about 5 months and loved it. then i sold it to buy a 370 cuz of the potential of the 370 vs the 350. I have already talked to sasha about getting one, but i have to wait till next year.

i was just wondering about your kit if you went through with it or not. I loved mine, would like more feed back on yours, or if you need help with it I'd love to help if you havent gotten it installed yet

The kit ended up being delayed by close to 6 months and things changed for me financially. So i decided to take myself out of group buy also i talked to Rob at ZCar Garage and he stated that he liked the kit but had quite a few concerns as he read through the entire installation manual and part list. He stated that this kit would be more for a racing set up versus a DD or weekend rider. the kit being so low and the concerns with hitting a puddle and not being cast iron in specific spots made it a concern of his. That was another determination that caused me to drop out as well, also since its a 7k kit

Tempestz 11-13-2013 07:42 PM

I understand the concern, when I had mine on my 350z i had no problems with scraping or anything while being my DD and i was lowered on the twin s techs, (not a lot) but it was still some. he actually has the its for sale now for 6795. which is a great price. I highly recommend it. I loved mine. and I really want get it again, but at the same time i want to try an make a powerful NA daily. i just can't decide on which way id like to go. I would love to be a 350+whp NA obviously ill need more than bolt ons, but the results I have seen are getting very close with the momentum/Z1 headers.

Also I have never dealt with rob at Zcargarage but have heard many great things about him. would you recommend hime over the other high quality shops around here? I mainly just need a shop for tuning when the time comes, I like to do all my own work. but I'm still learning how to tune properly and this being my DD id rather pay to have it done right

NickShoelace 11-13-2013 10:15 PM

I'll be taking my car to Z Car Garage for a tune when the time comes. I've heard nothing but good things and because of that alone, I don't trust going anywhere else.

I would have to say Rob @ ZCar is arguably one of the best Nissan mechanics/tuners in Nor-Cal. you're safe with him. :tiphat:

SuperDave 11-13-2013 10:39 PM

Ya know, with as many of us as are going to want a tune, it might be wise to consider sharing the cost of the equipment, to have unlimited tuning ability, as opposed to all of us paying for individual tunes, possibly even multiple times. I mean, a naturally aspirated air fuel map isn't rocket science, and the computer does most of the work, just throwing it out there. Boosted tunes on the other hand, I would recommend going to a shop for...

Tempestz 11-14-2013 02:24 AM

that sounds something like a Flash. its a genreal tune that they use to adjust afr based on your mods. Have you guys been seeing the resluts on the Z1 headers for the 350zDE when used on the 370? its really interesting. they bolt right up when used with the 350zDE testpipes/high flow cats. and results are much better than headers made for the 370z

NickShoelace 11-14-2013 06:00 AM

I like your idea Dave

Tempestz 11-14-2013 06:27 AM

hmmm... i do believe i typed that in my sleep...

I too like your idea dave. I believe the only thing we would need to buy is the uprev cable, as for tuning do we not all need a seperate licence?

SuperDave 11-14-2013 11:54 AM

I'll look into what's needed.

On another note, I like the exclusivity of our little 370 group here. It seperates the men from the boys. However, are any of you thinking about going to THIS?

Tempestz 11-14-2013 04:23 PM

I'm not even part of that group :/ but what is it, just a sit in the parking lot meet? Or is there something else going on that I missed?

NINJA 11-14-2013 05:04 PM

Dave I like your tuning idea as well. GTR is years out so might as well spend some more $$ on the Z.

I think that G and Z meet is mostly younger kids with G35s and 350z who think super slammed cars and pep boys upgrades are cool. One guy even has a wood vinyl hood on a blue car. I will probably pass.

Hey Tempestz can you PM me the info on the guy who does headlights? 180 keeps posting their work on facebook and its kinda tempting.

NickShoelace 11-14-2013 05:16 PM

I'm not going to that meet, Dave. I personally just like the group of people we have here. And also, it's more what Ninja said.. Lots of G35 sedans and 350s. Meh...

NickShoelace 11-14-2013 05:17 PM

And yeah, find out everything about the uprev stuff. We can get everybody to just pitch in a portion and it'll be way cost efficient. I'm excited about it.

Thanks exactly what I thought. Thanks for confirming for me.

NickShoelace 11-14-2013 06:12 PM

There are a few really nice 370Zs but I'd rather get them over here (working on it) than go over there.

Hell, I might go check this out, it's like 0.5 mile from my place... Unless the Z is apart by then...

Cbtech 11-14-2013 08:14 PM

I reached out to Nick and a few others about this but wanted to get a feeler out there. Since a lot more people are on FB and don't see this section much I was thinking about organizing a ANOTHER sac FB page...iunno. I would like to set ourselves aside as a group that actually does things vs sitting in parking lots jacking each other off. (Shoelace no you cannot actually do that again)

SuperDave 11-14-2013 09:38 PM

My take on it, don't. Like I said, keeping the 370's exclusive, separates the boys from the men. We drive our cars, have good careers, and are in our mid life. From what I see on facebook, it's mostly the younger crowd, wanting to meet at night, and stand around looking at cars. Now, I'm not saying there isn't any good on facebook either. I met Kyle (Tempestz) from a post there, and he's a great guy, like the rest of you. Also, I would say work on getting Chris Cu over to this board as well as the guy with the really light blue 370 with the Seibon fenders. Really, more than anything, is the fact that (most) of you are literate, mature, responsible, and are all great guys with no drama. I fear the opposite will happen from too much expansion into facebook territory. Hence why all the meets I have gone to were organized from these boards, and I have not gone to any facebook meets. When they do drive, it seems there is always drama with some of their drivers too... Just my $0.02

SuperDave 11-14-2013 09:49 PM

More importantly, with our amazing turnout last meet, are we going to put our powers together for a good cause around the holiday times?

We are like a happy little family. Mildly dysfunctional but that's okay.
CB and I were discussing getting everyone together at his house in Rancho for a nice Saturday of just hanging out, BBQ, drinks, tunes and just plain ol' good times. What does everyone think? No drives or anything that particular day.

MOST DEFINITELY :iagree::happydance::driving:

And actually, I have a great spot and am always down to host something like this too, but I don't know if you all wanna drive this far south... I know MB37 wouldn't mind!

Tempestz 11-14-2013 10:00 PM

Dave you hit the nail on the head with that last post. And thanks btw, I appreciate the kind words. But most if the meets from FB does have a lot of drama. I try to stay exclusively to the meet that I know certain people will not be attending. I usually try to keep it exclusive to my close friends. So I understand what you guys are saying. And appreciate that you do not get into that stuff as well.

Ninja the guys name is victor. On FB his name is Threeseventy Zee. He does great work and I am looking into getting mine done from him as well. But I would like to wait until I get my headlights, tail lights, and wheels all at once. That way my car is down for minimum amount of time. I will PM you his info. He is a very chill guy. In the military, has a family. And is in the process of building an S30 chassis. Located in milpitas. And he told me if you deliver and pick up the headlights it's only a 48 hour turn around if anyone else would like to Get his info let me know. I'm pretty sure if you take the lights to him and were just getting the headlights body color it's like 200$ give or take a couple bucks.

SuperDave 11-14-2013 10:03 PM

Ninja wanted the info. PM Ninja, not CB.

BTW might be ready to work on that Y and mid pipe. Payday's tomorrow.

I really like this idea. My cousin works as a nurse there and sees some terrible things. I'm going to organize this...details soon

NickShoelace 11-14-2013 10:17 PM

I definitely like this idea. Count me in.

Tempestz 11-14-2013 10:22 PM

Yup, missed that, edited to be correct now. Thanks guys.

If I get off work early enough(iWork from 11pm-7am I'll definately join you guys!

Tempestz 11-14-2013 10:28 PM

Oh and Dave, I decided to keep it... I ordered the axle back two days ago. I got a fix it ticket for the exhaust. And he made me show that I ordered mufflers for the car, which is what I was trying to avoid so I could make my custom one. However, if I come up with something else soon I'll let you know. The same midpipe I have is 500$ from vivid racing. And really any y pipe you buy will have the same results minus the motordyne XYZ pipe. It's way better

Sorry about deciding to keep it, it's just if I'm gonna spend that much on the axle back I'm gonna hold on to it, at least until I can get my hands on the AAM midpipe.

1st 11-14-2013 10:38 PM

Let’s keep it 370z exclusive.

Dave you suck. I never narc'd on nobody. Yeah yeah I know I'm one of the girls. So who am I making a tuna sandwich for without the crust?

I really like the AAM exhaust. Has the H-pipe configuration like the nismo. Think there was one for sale from AAM for $750. Had some cosmetic blemishes but fully functional. Kinda like CB's mom.
