Hey guys! Just stopping by and updating, just got my axle back put on and my intake bumper ducts. :) sounds soooo much deeper than it was before. I'd post pics but it was dark when I finished everything...

Dave those blue blasters sound really good.

Anxious for some video, or to hear it in person!

I might be going down to Fremont tomorrow, rolling down with a friend to get his oil changed. I will be sure to take some video for you guys.

Swift spec-R springs are ordered. Should be here before T-day. Myotor, what are you doing over the t-day break?

That might just work SD... I should have mine back together this weekend. Maybe on the Friday or Saturday after T-day...

Hopefully Santa will bring me an Eibach spring & sway bar kit for Xmas...

Tempestz 11-18-2013 03:37 PM

I hope Santa brings me something! :D I'd be happy with tint on my windows.

Wow I think that sounds better than the whole GT Haus MS system I listened to the other day...

Thanks Myotor! I will get some WOT videos and drive bys as soon as I can. but with me working nights I barely wake up in time for day light. I can honestly say I cant stop driving the car. I LOVE the way it sounds now.

Whoever made this video and drove the Z are friggin' retards (no offense to the legitimately disabled). Wide-open throttle acceleration on a residential street is incredibly stupid and shows a complete disregard for people who live on the street. It takes a split-second to turn into major tragedy just because this clown lacks any sort of common sense.

Additionally, that exhaust sounds much like the sound that comes from 40 dollar fart cans that are readily available form any Pep Boys or AutoZone.

Tempestz 11-18-2013 09:40 PM

wow... i agree with your first statement.

however if you have ever heard the GTHAUS in person i do believe you would think otherwise.

I've only heard the meisterschaft exhaust in videos, but it's one of the best sounding out there. To each their own though. Onzedge your opinion may be biased because you didn't like the video due to WOT in a residential neighborhood. Pretty sure you'd like the exhaust if you check out some other videos.

Make sure you only do this on private roads or the racetrack. Wouldn't want to be "racing" on public streets. Apparently every person on this forum drives the speed limit, obeys all traffic laws, and has nothing illegal installed on their daily driven vehicles.

Ever since you've mentioned this exhaust, I've been checking them out. Many people say they have an exotic sound- perhaps that clip was a poor rep.

As far as looks go, those are way sexy pipes- with their hand made bends and TIG welds that scream extreme craftsmanship. Now wonder you lust after these pipes like a Thai hooker!!! :p

Tempestz 11-19-2013 03:25 AM

Oh yes, of course I would... That's why it's taking so long to get the video;)

But the video posted of the GTHAUS was definately not complimentary to the sound of the exhaust. If you guys hear it in person you would think otherwise. It is the only exhaust if have ever heard that has that tone. The split tips they have create a unique spin on the exhaust note also. Johncy 2000 has the GTHAUS axle back with the AAM midpipe non resonated and it sounds ungodly:eek:.

But I will try and get a closed course video of my exhaust up ASAP, if not, you guys will meet me/hear it at the next meet.

Oh and the price that guy has on the GTHAUS system In The pictures is amazing! The catback when bought out right is nearly 2500$ he is selling it for. 1000 less so if you guys are thinking about it. Pick it up!!

If I only had a spare $1600 lying around right now!!!:eekdance:

NINJA 11-19-2013 10:22 AM

So the Meisterschaft axleback portion fits with the AAM midpipe? Without modification?

SuperDave 11-19-2013 12:25 PM

The AAM midpipe bolts up at the stock location. So any axle back (stock located), or stock muffler will bolt up to it.

Seems like one draw back of the GTHMS is it is not a true dual with H pipe- it's a Y. Looks like most are... The MXP is an H pipe- I'll have to listen to yours closer next time... Nice setup...

Tempestz 11-19-2013 05:43 PM

Yes the GTHAUS fits the AAM midpipe perfectly.

But as your saying GTHAUS isn't true dual, but neither is stillen catback and isn't it the highest gain catback next to motordyne? Motordyne isn't true dual either. So all the major gain exhaust systems are the Ypipe design. Rather than X or H other than FI exhaust

myotorsports 11-19-2013 05:50 PM

Excellent point taken, the results are what REALLY matters!!!

Tempestz 11-19-2013 06:04 PM

Yeah I was researching that point for the longest time on why stillen and motordyne made so much compared to the rest. And almost all the other exhausts used the Hpipe or x pipe design. Granted in theory they would make the most HP and tq design, they don't. Now this is actually where getting into power under the curve matters... An X pipe/ypipe design will give you the most power down low, because the exhaust gases and closer to mixing or mixing directly which in turn creates back pressure without the use of a muffler or resonator. So the exhaust gases are not slowed down by the packing, which helps with exhaust scavenging. The h pipe helps in high rpm power cuz it equalizes exhaust pulses and they will flow better in upper RPM.

The point I cannot directly explain is how motordyne, and stillen still make the most power in the high rpm utilizing the ypipe design. Granted motordyne uses the indirect resonator on the tail pipes(I forgot the actual name for that) and it creates even more exhaust scavenging. These points are why I chose the ypipe design with a non resonated midpipe and two straight through mufflers as my exhaust of choice. Least path if resistance for me. :D

H-pipe is why I was only looking at a few exhausts. The stock nismo has a similar setup so wanted to match that for performance. MXP and AAM were two that offered this. On each of their websites they claim great gains. If the AAM tails will match up to the MXP mid, I may do a switcharoo.

Great picture CB.

Tempestz 11-19-2013 07:33 PM

Can you buy just the MXP midpipe?

NINJA 11-19-2013 08:52 PM

Not sure. Got it through a forum vendor.

Tempestz 11-19-2013 09:41 PM

The midpipe, or the full exhaust

Great information and pondering of x-y-h differences. As far as I understand, the x design will make more power throughout the rpm band over the h, since it allows a more free flow path and reduces exhaust scavenging, but the loss of backpressure causes a loss of torque, which is where the h pipe design out performs. Albeit, we are talking measurements of 1 and 2, nothing too significant. If you think about it, the y pipe design is really just an elongated x pipe, and that is probably why motordyne and stillen are making the same type of power gains in the same power band. A lot comes into play, angle of the y, length of the y before the x split again, backpressure from the mufflers and baffles, and things like test pipes, hfcs, or stock cats and their age can really offset the numbers as well.

I purchased the full exhaust for around $1200. Vendor was B2 Auto Designs.
