So far, it doesn't look like anybody is taking offense to anything being said. Considering the subject, I'd say things are going amazingly well. You make some very good legal points (I assume they are good, I'm no lawyer) but this isn't a court of law. If I were sitting on a jury, I'd be more worried about the technicalities. Heavy bike traffic stopped on a highway/road. An SUV coming from the back into sight & accelerating. Bikers jump/try to get out of the way. One doesn't make it & gets run over. If the rest didn't get out of the way, they also would have been run over & maybe killed. The SUV doesn't stop after going over the bike & biker but goes forward even faster. That's what I saw on that video

Not true. A lot of us got offended by the one guy who dropped in to tell us we were all ******* afraid to stunt and we should let bikers have their fun.

anybody any of the "major players" in this thread.

"Major players" = those willing to admit we don't have all the facts and have at least gone to the trouble to review what evidence there is

What the heck are you talking about? Try watching it on a larger monitor. It happens fast but you'll notice one guy hitting the window on the driver side and another guy in white shirt near the front passenger tire in what looks like a stabbing motion a moment before the RR guy guns it. The traffic was stopped because the bikers stopped it. He bumped the biker because the biker clearly brake-checked him. He's looking backwards for Christ sake.

Just my observation of course...

Backing up a bit, I would not be in that situation. I avoid states that do not allow for full use of a self-defense, so I would likely not be driving in NY in the first place.

Driver hits biker due to brake check
Bikers all stop enclosing driver

If we ASSUME all those to be true, as soon as my door handle was pulled and the first fist was thrown at my window to break it...
I would have done EXACTLY the same as the driver... And having the wife and 2 year old in the car (in my mind) gives him all the more right to do so.

Hell, if it was me, if I could think fast enough, I'd try to mow down the maximum number of bikers to avoid them coming after me after. And god knows I wouldn't let traffic stop me. For my baby's life, I'd ram other cars, run lights, and do whatever. If I get boxed in by traffic, put that bítch in reverse.
ESPECIALLY after they broke his window. Sorry. ALLLLLLLL bets are off.

I'll go to jail to save my baby. I hope most if not all of you would do the same.

Exactly. The moment they attempt to gain entry to my vehicle, it becomes a self defense situation in my mind. I am experiencing a reasonable fear of injury or death. He's not opening my door to give me a back rub.
