I couldn't wait for you to come to Orlando so I had everything installed. They put the sub in a box behind the driver's seat and I thought I could get into the way it sounds but I couldn't. So I purchased a Wicked Magic and it will be installed this Monday.

I have an Alpine PDX‑V9 that has the 4 channels bridged into 2 channels for a total of 200w RMS for the comps. I was thinking that a pair of 6.5" to 7" mid bass's would be great. I could have the amp put back in 4 channel mode and run 100w to everything.

Would a 100w be enough to power for the mid bass's ? Would it be better to get a 6.5" woofer instead?

The most important question....Where would I be able to put these speakers ? If you're still coming to Central Fl in a month or two could you have something already fabricated to hold these speakers? Please PM me when you can. Thank you for your time.

Yes 100 watts would be enough keep in mid your speakers will never see that much power by the time you tune the system. I recommend focal or hertz for solid mid bass with their woofers. Use the stock locations in the doors and dash.

Well this weekend was an amazing for me and my car. Matt not only fixed all my existing issues from my previous install but also upgraded the speakers, amps, and installed a new BT Audio module.

First the original install. I had it done by a small local shop that was pretty popular with everyone else in the area. That was a big mistake, I told that to take there time and do it right, but that didn't seem to matter much in their small busy shop, though they did take their time. There was an annoying buzz which they could not get rid of every time your turned it on, an obvious grounding issue which they couldn't complacently solve though attempted with ground loop isolation.

When Matt took the system apart and saw the rats nest of wires and connections not even tapped just copper rapped around other copper to make connections it was clear why things weren't working right. The ground issue was because they just grounded everything together but never made the connection to the body. We even found the mic that they told wasn't in the box when I gave it to them and had to order another. In the end I think we removed about 30' of extra cable that was either too long for where it was going or served no purpose at all.

As for the installation portion of the work, these were the items I ordered and had installed.
1. Rockford Fosgate Prime 750 Watt Class D 1 channel Amplifier
2. Alpine PDX-F4 4/3/2 Power Density Digital Amplifier
3. Hertz HSK 165 6.5" 2-way Hi-Energy Component Speaker System HSK165
4. Alpine KCE-400BT-Remote Mount Bluetooth Interface for Selected Alpine Receivers
5. Stinger 17 Foot 4000 Series Professional 4 Channel RCA Interconnects

Already installed & Keeping are
1. INA-W900BT Head Unit
2. 13TW5-3 Sub

Everything went smoothly aside from some minor frustrations at the crappy work that was previously done. Matt does good work, I saw for myself first hand, and I think he knows just about every nook and cranny of the 370z by now.

I am very happy with my audio system now, music sounds like no other car I have had before and all the functionality is there that I want. Some day I may upgrade the head unit to a newer model and I will defiantly return here to do it again because Matt is a real audiophile and takes pride in his work.

Here's what Matt did for me this past Sunday (May 5th). I can't believe he gave up Cinco de Mayo to do an install for me, but he did!

- Alpine W535HD
- Hybrid Audio Imagine Series Convertible Component Speakers
- Arc Audio XDi 805 amp
- Arc Audio 10" sub
- Stinger Wiring kit
- Alpine C117D rear view camera
- ASWC-1
- GTMat Onyx Sound deadener

The goods

Bye bye stock head unit!

Matt doing work

Taking it all apart

OEM vs Hybrids

Running wires

Sound deadening with GTMat Onyx

Zenclosure

New headunit with cameo appearance from Matt

Due to a few mishaps and delays of me getting there, Matt was understanding and we started about an hour or so later than expected. Halfway through, Matt realized I forgot something so he drove us to his local Best Buy and hooked it up. That was very awesome of him since it was really out of his way and my mistake for not having the part needed. Also gave me a chance to ride in his car and listen to his speakers at work, which was awesome. Many hours later, finally finished the install and had the radio/CD on the whole ride back. Definitely worth the 3 hour drive for me to get to him!

Unfortunately those are all the pics I was able to take during the install. But his work is definitely top notch and he was able to pop everything on and off in a matter of seconds without damaging anything.

Can anyone give me a hand on finding the remote wire for a 2010 Nismo stock radio? If you have a pic, please do post it up. Heck, post multiple pics of them. I have all my parts and and a few wired ran, just need to make sure I get the remote wire to my amps right so I don't drain my battery and get stranded.

Thanks

Today was a simple upgrade. A family of a friend of mine wanted better sound for their trip. Sense the speakers were 11 years old it was to be expected. Upgraded the fronts and rears with polk DXI's which were hands down better than the stock ones which by now were deteriorating and sounded awful. The family only requested something cheap and the install was stealth.

The car

Panels before

Running the factory wire back through the stock grommet to install the crossover inside the cabin. Speaker wire was than fed back to the speakers.

New speakers being wired up. Soldered and head shrunk

Dremeled the old tweeters out to make room for the new ones.

New speakers installed

Installed

Heat shrunk walked a little bit but still was protected.

Rears were very easy as almost plug and play.

A friend of mine was having some serious trouble with his 2000 mustang audio system. Randomly shut off and sometimes wouldn't have any sound at all. Come to find out the factory amp had been bypassed and multiple speakers wired in parallel to one speaker output. Multiple short runs of short speaker wire were used to make a full run as well causing shorts along the way. Decided the best thing to do was a complete rewire. Take a look.

Before rewire

Stuff that was removed

After

Everything is working well now and as it should after getting rid of improper wiring and shorts.

I have a few installs/details to update the thread with. First up a 2007 350z install and car detail.

The customer wanted to keep the factory look as much as possible while still giving him better sound quality.

Installed:

Alpine type R Shallow sub
Alpine PDX-V9 5 channel amp
Focal 5 1/4 rears
Hertz HSK 165 fronts

Taped off the center console to prevent any scratching during install.

Head unit harness solder, heat shrunk, and zip tied.

Factory sub was removed

New sub test fitted

Rears installed

New speakers just barely have enough space to clear the door.

Tweeters installed

Amp installed in the rear glove box for maximum stealth.

All finished

I was contacted 2 weeks ago by a women who was very unhappy with a detail she had got on her white accord. In her words there were spots all over the car and she was worried they wouldn't come out as she had washed it a few time with no luck. After discussing the options she went with a 1 step correction and wolfgang sealant for the upcoming winter months. The car was not in bad condition at all just that the entire car was covered in what I can only describe as either a crappy wax or left polish.

Products Used

Uber pads and towels
Auto Finesse Lather
Auto Finesse Citrus
Auto Finesse Glass cleaner
Meguiars M101
Chemical Guys Tire Gel
Chemical Guys No nonsense cleaner
Chemical Guys Metal polish
Chemical Guys Silk Spray
1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner

During/After

A fellow customer who I did a audio system for contacted me about getting his corvette winterized and cleaned up. We decided to just do the exterior and worry about getting a full 2 stage + interior done in the spring. This was my first time working with corvette clear and even with MF pads as well as an assortment of polishes to work with it was no easy task. I ended up switching between M101 and FG400 in the process, I added a stage 2 correction to the hood as it became very finicky too work with to get a proper correction with a one stage.

Products used:

Auto Finesse Lather
Auto Finesse Glass cleaner
Auto Finesse Citrus
Uber MF pads and orange pads
Meguiars M101
Menzerna FG400
Chemical Guys No nonsense cleaner
Chemical Guys tire gel
Chemical Guys Metal polish
Uber Towels
Wolfgang Fuzion wax

Cleaning wheels and soaking front bumper first

Paint inspection

Polishing time

After polishing

Sadly I didn't have my wet sanding supplies with me because this scratch would have been gone

2nd stage on the hood

Wax being taken off
