Blaupunkt 6902A GT Power Series dual 6"x9" powered subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

I found this thread on the Jag forum where someone installed a pair of subs and posted the details:
Anybody have any wiring diagrams or location for amplifier for the audio system.... - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

The car's standard audio has terrific highs, and good mids. But bass is poor and I'd like to alleviate that with something very simple. Would a sub that small require its own amp? I sort of doubt it does, but I don't know crap.
If your looking for something to add bass, I would look at a small sub in a sealed box and a separate amp, the one your looking at will not do much as far as quality bass.

2 questions for you Matt:

1) How hard is it to install a bluetooth mic in the stock factory location?
2) I have the Homelink mirror with the backup camera. If I get a new HU, can I wire the backup camera to display on it, instead of the mirror?

Installing a aftermarket mic in the factory location is not that hard, just take your time as working in a small space above your head is stressful.

You can tap into the factory video signals and run a cable to our new head unit. I think someone posted the wiring diagram for the harness of the mirror. I just can not remember where.

Hello everyone, my name is Matt, I have been an installer for 8 years now. My audio installs is a part time side job, however I work as a I.T. guy. We got our new van a few weeks ago and the stock system was not cutting it for me.

Stage 1 Head unit install

I decided to go with something that could give me expandability and features but also not something that would blow the budget. The JVC KW-R900BT fit the bill nicely. I am a alpine guy all day and kenwood is a close runner up, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone on this one and go with a different brand all together.

On to the pictures.

Few of the parts

Ran the mic on top of the A pillar, no problem with echo or noise.

As I do all my work, I soldered and marine grade heat shrunk all the wires, sadly I was in a rush and did not take a picture of this.

Wires ready to go.

Routed the USB #2 port to the glove box, very simple to do.

Head unit installed in the metra dash kit.

Installed with trim ring

Hey bud, I have a sport+touring, and I wanna upgrade my system... I already have (uninstalled) a 13TW5v3 and a Wicked C.A.S. enclosure... I also have a JL HD900.5 amp.. I'm stuck when it comes to speakers... I honestly dont know my speaker size, or what I need to do next. I've heard I have to rip out all the Bose wires and get a new head unit. If you could give me some insight or even a phone call to point me in the right direction for the speakers I need to get and what to do next, I would greatly appreciate it... Thank you!!

Default Help needed

Hello big,

I have a base model 370 Z and would like to upgrade the system. I was wondering you could point me in the right direction. I have ordered a Kenwood 6990hd, and am planning on doing the install myself. The problem I have is I do not know much about components. I have a budget of $ $400-$700. Can you give me some component suggestions? I’m curious what you would do given this budget.

I listen to a variety of music from metal, rap, jazz, and classical. I like the idea of adding a sub, but I don’t know if I should upgrade the door speakers and do 1 amp to power everything.

Thanks for your advice.

The owner contacted me asking for a clean basic stereo install. Nothing crazy but he did want a little flare to it. I went ahead and put together an idea and went to work.

Equipment

Custom Autosound Secret Audio SST
CD Changer
Alpine Type S 6.5 Components
Alpine Type S 6X9 Coaxial's
KnuKonceptz 16 gauge wire

As always wires soldered and marine grade heat shrunk.

Harness organized and wired

The CD changer was mounted using aluminum brackets secured to the back lip of the rear wall.

Pre made kick panels were not deep enough for the woofers, nor did they have a cut out for a tweeter. Spacers were made and will later be routed and painted, fallowed by upholstery.

A new dash was made (not by myself) and the display was installed.

A bracket was made to install the brain as well on the back wall. The one strip going along the back wall has a gap behind it and worked well as a place to secure everything without going through the wall.

The customer did want rear speakers so I made a set of basic boxes and mounted them level and flat, as the back wall is actually angled back.

A template was made for the beauty panel.

The actually panel, it will later be wrapped. Still need to add the plexiglass and logo.

What's up Matt? I live in Staten Island NY. Your best opinion for an Aftermarket Radio/Nav/DVD System. I have a 2011 Nissan 370z Sport with base radio. It has 2 tweeters and 2 Mids on Doors. No Rear Speakers. Thx in advance!
