it curves right between 112 and hawkins where it happened and the back just kicked for some reason. dont know why, dont know how, tried to save it, managed to avoid the car next to me but that was about it. All we could come up with was it had just rained and there was a small patch of leaves back where it thought i started sliding, with 2 spaces missing. i was just happy i didnt hit the other guy. The Z can be replaced if necessary, New Car Replacement Policy but its better than damaging another car.

We should set up a rain date cuz it always rain on Wednesday.

Romulus1 10-18-2011 08:39 PM

i feel like it was on but i may have turned it off earlier (with in the same driving session) for something stupid earlier and forgotten to turn it back on

chuckd05 10-18-2011 10:57 PM

romulus what shop is the car at?

Romulus1 10-19-2011 04:56 AM

Long Island Proliner in Medford

red6spd 10-19-2011 06:51 AM

From the way you described what happen it sounds like VDC was off unless u were doing like 130 mph. I have made turns in dry and wet at normal speeds and been able to put my foot down and keep it down and VDC keeps me in check. I feel the car rotate around but once the VDC kicks in she gets straight again. Amazing system, I almost never turn mine off.

AlphaSnacks 10-19-2011 02:19 PM

Mine only has 6400 miles on it, and I've had it for 11 months now. :\

Granted the winter was brutal and I don't like driving in the rain, plus I work too much... :|

:(

drift practice really helps with learning car control. it's saved my car a few times from being done for since i got it in feb. this year.
i keep vdc off unless it's raining. good luck with the car repair

i have drifted here and there and am fairly decent at it, i can do a few other simple tricks as well but nothing crazy. I managed to counter the first loss but unfortunately i only had 1 lane to do it in since there was a car next to me. i had to avoid that as well. had i had both lanes i may have been able to save it but that we'll never know. i should hear from my insurance company today hopefully.

btw thanks for all the support guys, i do appreciate it

In a RWD car VDC on or off would make no difference once the rear steps out. Wet leaves are dangerous not just because they're wet, but also because they're oily once water mixes in with them.

Once the rear steps out physics finishes the job. A pile of wet leaves doesn't provide more traction than say...ice. Especially on a slight bend.

geosZ 10-20-2011 11:46 AM

So whos going today

it is said that wet leaves can be just as dangerous as ice. ill be sure to leave the Z at home when it rains from now on hah

mr_sk 10-20-2011 02:42 PM

AlphaSnacks 10-20-2011 03:06 PM

mr_sk 10-20-2011 03:28 PM

AlphaSnacks 10-21-2011 01:50 PM
