I don't use auto mode unless I'm rubbernecking.

He's referring to elitists

So what about the M4 or new vettes etc?

I think its because they don't want that care stealing sales from the 911.

the new Camaro rocks the same HP as the regular C7 and in either i would have the 8L90 AT.

the M4 has a DCT. very nice.

as for the squashed VW bug segment they have the PDK which pretty much wiped their cars of manuals. they threw you homos a bone with ruining the GT4 cayman with a manual only :bs:

Compared to what type of auto? DCT holds just as much.

After a given HP, both have to be modified...

You do realize that after driving a MT for a while it becomes second nature. Just because YOU wouldn't buy one doesn't mean that it isn't intelligent.

Yeah but you modified your car. I'm speaking about stock sports cars. Your car is not stock... Your debate is a whole different can of worms. It's modified yo be driven in your skill level

I'm talking about offering over 500HP to any fvckin moron who walks in a dealer.

I feel that if going a quarter mile in 11.98 seconds and you're driving on the street... It's not the safest thing in the world to have that much power on a manual transmission for daily use...
Example: I wouldn't buy a manual Z06. But I'd get a manual camaro v6. In the case of the Z06. It's the intelligent street drivers choice to buy an automatic.

Trust me shifting gears isn't your first priority when dealing with that much power at the limit. There's a lot going on without you having to play with a stick. The more engaging argument is moot at this power level when compared to road safety...
If stick was the sports car transmission of choice?
It would be in formula one cars.

All being said... Telling me you hate me over an opinion is extremely childish. It's amazing how serious this debate got over personal opinion and observation.

That must be the reason Ford only puts manuals in their performance cars, with the only exception being the newest Ford GT which is a supercar.

If you can't handle shifting gears and power, you can't handle a powerful car at all.

Yup,because of the power level. Even Porsche only puts manuals in their lower performance street options and the Cayman GT4. BUT even in the case of the GT4 all the low gears are super tall for safety reasons.

The 911 has a manual, including in the top level trim.

I'm sorry that your delicate sensibilities were hurt that my lighthearted comment included the word 'hate'.

Hey I can appreciate you manual drivers passion. I used to drive manual too. My opinions are based on my driving experience and what I manage better. I can drive a high hp car just as good. But... I feel both hands on the wheel with the shifter at your finger tips offers you better control. Higher split second reactions. Just all around better handling of the vehicle. We are a tiny group of serious drivers. Most of the world are idiots with money.

Example. Build up an F type S if you really want a fast manual. But the F type R is truly a car for an expert in RWD. That's why they don't even make the RWD anymore. It was too rambunctious even in just auto... Power is hitting new heights. It's all I'm saying.
