Niiiice. Now you are bringing in homophobic slurs to your argument. Really, well done.

manual homo? not a homophobic slur at all. its just to bash on idiots (like you) who can't move on from a dead technology. idiots who cant accept change nor think that something new (that is also better) can be 'engaging".

i mean that is the term always thrown around is that by pressing a pedal and moving a stick it makes you more engaged in the experience.

aside from not being able to skip over a gear when going down/up that's really the only thing a manual has over on the AT.

AT is faster, more precise, and has better gearing than the manual.

what argument aside from the typical idiotic "but but but its more engaging and its a better drivers feeling" statement do you have?

none.

I have another one... I enjoy that mushy clutch pedal feel when my csc blows.

or the grinding sensation as the syncrhos go flat and my gears start grinding.

or the vibrating shift knob because we all know vibrating mode is the best.

Your debate is NOT reflective of my statement. What I was trying to say that high horsepower cars shouldn't be manual because of the power level. It's a lot of power in these newer modern cars. I feel that if going a quarter mile in 11.98 seconds and you're driving on the street... It's not the safest thing in the world to have that much power on a manual transmission for daily use...
Example: I wouldn't buy a manual Z06. But I'd get a manual camaro v6. In the case of the Z06. It's the intelligent street drivers choice to buy an automatic.

Trust me shifting gears isn't your first priority when dealing with that much power at the limit. There's a lot going on without you having to play with a stick. The more engaging argument is moot at this power level when compared to road safety...
If stick was the sports car transmission of choice?
It would be in formula one cars.

All being said... Telling me you hate me over an opinion is extremely childish. It's amazing how serious this debate got over personal opinion and observation.

she puts all my internet wins up so why wouldn't i add this one to the collection :tiphat:

Yup,because of the power level. Even Porsche only puts manuals in their lower performance street options and the Cayman GT4. BUT even in the case of the GT4 all the low gears are super tall for safety reasons.

My car makes more power than a Z06 and is MT. Are you saying that means I lack intelligence?

You do realize that after driving a MT for a while it becomes second nature. Just because YOU wouldn't buy one doesn't mean that it isn't intelligent.

That's why the gears are tall? For safety? :shakes head:

So what about the M4 or new vettes etc?

I think its because they don't want that care stealing sales from the 911.

see you manual guys are idiots. just because the transmission is "automatic" does not mean you don't/cant use it.

my car is a 7AT. i never use it in "auto" mode. i shift every single gear and use it to it's full potential. i am probably more engaged than you are minus the left foot extra step you need to take and waste time.....and most likely miss a shift here and there.

the argument is invalid that a manual engages you more into the driving experience.

i swear having to manually shift gears makes you all fuckin retarded.

Same here!!:iagree:

I don't agree. The stealing sales from the 911 is pure myth. The cars are built on 2 totally different driving philosophies and the 911 legendary status can't be eaten up by the Cayman. Besides the practicality of the 911 is leagues better than the Cayman, which comes into play for grand tourers. And the rear engine offers a completely different driving experience.

The Cayman and 911 are individuals and stand alone vehicles .
