so the z34 may turn into the 300zx of my generation?

That's a Nissan move

No new Nissan GT-R before 2020, Z-Car will live on

We also ask Tamura-san whether the 370Z is the last hurrah for the reborn Z car.

“At some time, everybody has to die,” he says. “When, we don’t know. There have been stories about the Z Car dying, and stories about a new version being released soon.

“Neither is true. These details are only in my head and no one at Nissan has said anything about any of this to journalists. No one knows about these things.

“The Z car will not die while I am working at Nissan though.”

Yup I mentioned this a week ago

At least we know the GTR will be around until 2020. It's frustrating that there is still no definitive answer from Nissan as to when we can expect a new Z.

Makes me wonder if I should pick up a 981 Cayman.

I was putting some thought to that. And I think this is where Nissan is going.

I think they are going to bring back a Z that truly goes back to the original. If we don't see a new Z by this concept/pre-production model by spring??

We won't see a Z till 2019 as a 2020 model. It will be the 50th anniversary. And would make sense. If we don't see a Z concept this spring? Expect a refresh on the base models again for 2017 models.

Found some good news regarding the z35, apparently I think the suv/sports car "gripz" concept was a distraction and Nissan will continue the z legacy. Going back in number scheme? 300z lighter 3.0 forced induction I am all for it if it exceeds 375 to 400+hp.

I'm glad for now that there's no mention of a turbo 4 banger, since there's articles circulating around with the next engine being "down sized", "fuel efficient", "more powerful", etc.

The grip Z wasn't a distraction. It was Nissan saying...

"LOOK" We CAN build a 2,500lb AWD crossover. Expect a super light RWD sports car.

NZNoob 12-05-2015 01:43 AM

Wouldn't it be amazing to have 400HP in a 2500Lbs package for a new Z.

:iagree: :yum:

Nissan better hurry z35 or rx9:ugh2:

zguynate 12-05-2015 10:00 AM

The RX9 is supposedly going to be priced much higher than the old ones because they are considering it a "Luxury" sports car.

Found some spy photos of the new Q60. The front looks good, the rear not so much, according to the article they're expecting a turbocharged v6 making around 400hp. I wonder if this would be the new engine being considered for the next Z:

As long as this engine has been in production with it only gaining 50 HP in the Nismo version from the previous Twin Turbo Z34 from the 90"s..................... Are you guys really excited about it taking 8 years to gain 50 HP??? Unless they have a Nismo version with at least 425 HP, they can keep it. If the GTR can have 600 HP, the a Z should have a mid 400 plus power plant as well.

Not sure where you got your information....the 300zx of the 90's had 300hp out of its twin turbo....the nismo 370Z has no twin turbo and is 350hp from the same engine that the base 370Z has....also most people are excited about the new 3.0 liter twin turbo engine because of tuning potential, not the power figure from the factory

Still thinking a couple more years though huh?
