This is unlike the battery voltage and temperature gauges which move so slowly that they appear static and stationary.
Some things never change, they just get reinvented.

The turbine speed gauge reminds me back in the day when it was the thing to
have a BIG tach mounted on your steering column.
But hell, it did not eliminate the clock.

I'm honestly really excited for the new Z. Of course even if I was in the market to get one I'd wait a few model years so any issues can be fixed. I'll never buy a first year of a new model and have the risk of a lot sh*t going wrong, just to be that guy that has it first. Just look at the Supra release and how many guys got burnt who bought the launch model.

I do see a few good points here about the steering, but me personally I haven't experienced it first hand so I don't know how different it would feel to me. I'm at 56k miles on the car and daily it, and don't plan on selling anytime soon. But when I approach early 100k miles I might look to sell and not have to deal with the possibility of major issues coming up. Of course they can come up at any time even at what im at now, but would be a little more peace of mind.

If I were to sell my Z honestly the only thing that would really interest me for ~30K would be a V1 Nismo LOL. I've driven my friends STi and that low of hp for AWD just isn't fun to me. Don't get me wrong it seemed a lot more practical, but it's not my taste. For the forseeable future I don't see myself getting rid of a third pedal. I'm sure maybe I'll grow out of it eventually, but definitely not any time soon.

If you go to the Supra forums - it seems like a lot (not all) of the 2021's have their ECU locked still so they can't do a tune other than the JB4 tune. I really like those Supras but.....I really do like having a third pedal as well.

I think the color match roof will look more complete, if I get the new Z in that sexy blue or hopefully they come out with a orange, I will order mine with a color match roof. It looks more uniform and complete.

Design wise it is all visual.
The black roof makes the car look lower and longer.
The reveal video shows the yellow and blue Z.
Same cars but the blue looks longer.
Not a new trick this use of black. Kia uses this with the Soul.
The newer models look so much bigger due to black accents.

According to a post above from Nissan, you will not be able to get the color match roof in blue or orange, hence why I was discussing it.

Sounds like the new Z could be fairly priced. Pending reviews and a personal test drive, another Z could be in my future.

See post below.

The only 3 colors you can get with body color roof are black, dark gray, and dark red.

Silver, gray, blue, yellow, red and white all ONLY come with the black roof.

Hence why I posted what I did and why I'm not happy with this poor Nissan decision.

Read my posts above explaining.

That's beyond stupid only 3 freaking colors that won't have a black roof. It should be an option on every color to have a blacked out roof or not. I'm sure it won't cost Nissan that much more to allow that option. It's little choices like this that make me scratch my head at what Nissans designers are doing.

Technically, only 2 freaking colors that won't have a black roof, since Black metallic is one of the 3 colors

You are right. Splitting hairs it's possible the black on the roof isn't metallic, but that really won't matter much at all.

But when you put it like that, it's even worse.

The black top should be a paid for add on option to any color, period. I haven't checked the other forum but I hope there are a lot of people complaining about this. There is still time for Nissan to change their plans before the official ordering program starts. I know for a fact I will not even consider this car if I HAVE to get a black roof to get a cool color like blue, white, or yellow. No dice what so ever. Hopefully they are paying attention.

For all the things they got right Nissan sure as heck got a lot of little things wrong and that is in the end what is make or break for a lot of buyers. When you're paying 40k+ for a car you expect stupid things like roof colors to have been figured out. I'm not saying Nissan needs a 100+ combination color selector like Corvette but at least letting the buyer chose to have a black roof or not it's pretty basic stuff IMHO.

Look guys, this is V1. I'm sure some or all of the options we talk about will be added in future model years. It's classic Nissan. Same body, small additions here and there so they can call it "new" model year.

Nismo will be another teaser.
