Looks like someone took a halo odst helmet and smushed it down.

This camera makes it look 10x nicer. Sometimes it's the photographer, not the car.

They had two red ones at the unveiling last week.

That confirmed? First I've heard of it.

No manual would suck cuz that means the tranny will break with any power mods:stirthepot:

i'm 90% sure the one red car was an S

FPenvy 01-20-2016 10:02 AM

aside from the pics mostly being from distance and dark around the wheels i think there's really no body difference from regular to the S and i assume the L may be a long body like an audi A8L?

i would assume the S will add better brakes, better suspension, and i know the S adds the extra driving modes.

I'm guessing L would be luxury???

Softer suspension

No akebono

No lsd

i assumed the Infinti badge meant luxury lol

i highly doubt the would badge L for luxury. like highly doubt it being technology packages within the options not a full model

UNKNOWN_370 01-20-2016 10:08 AM

Maybe I'm seeing it wrong? It looks like an L. But it's blurry. But it looks like it says Q60L.

UNKNOWN_370 01-20-2016 10:11 AM

IPL probably a year after initial release. 450HP was earlier speculation when the 400hp engine was a solid rumor now confirmed.

i assume the Z/ will be the same 400 vs nismo 450 then.

There's no mention of a manual transmission option in any of the 2017 Q60 articles, plus Infiniti didn't mention anything so idk, didn't they nix the manual in the G/Q sedan also?

452, cuz of the exhaust! Lol

UNKNOWN_370 01-20-2016 05:04 PM

I really think you guys will see a low volume return of manual transmissions by 2020. I think they're just working out statistics before production and how go offer the same manual unit for a variety of cars to make it worth the investment. But they know they'll only be able to produce 10% of there annual sales on manuals.

I don't think manuals make sense in really fast cars.
I'd reserve a manual for a miata or Mazda3 or civic. In these high HP cars your focus should be driving. Not switching gears with one hand off the steering wheel.

Dwight Frye 01-20-2016 05:24 PM

The rear looks OK, the side view is so-so, the interior OK and the front end looks like crap and about 5 other makes and models of cars. They need to fire the designers that are stuck on that "look". It's hideous

MagmaRed370z 01-20-2016 05:57 PM

I wonder how many of us will trade our 370z with the new 400+hp Z as soon as it hits stealerships floors. . I certainly will wait at least the first or second year production to ease out the bugs.

I think I'm keeping mine and adding the other Z & create a stable.

I just don't like that Nissan made the new engine difficult to MOD.... Like what's the purpose of going turbo if modding it is going to be costly?

brucelidat 01-20-2016 08:19 PM

I plan to wait a year or 2 to see how tuneable and what's available for the q60 before I decide to get it or not. I figure by late 2017, there should be some stuff out.

NRTim 01-20-2016 11:49 PM

I wonder if they're "testing" the next gen Z at this place....

There is no new Z35 Confirmed, there is no twin turbo Z confirmed for a next generation car other than a most likely overpriced heavy Q60.

Honestly feel like this thread should be locked until Nissan themselves confirm they are working on a new next generation Z car with an estimated release date. Every article released is not confirmed by Nissan themselves and the information is so shaky.

According to this exactly one year ago from Nissan's PR guy. Nissan was at the inception of creating both Z and GT-R. And he wasn't guessing. It was a statement.

Hopefully they put the new Q60 engine in the 2017 Z.. That would be nice..

fisherg 01-21-2016 01:24 PM

2017 Z ... Apparently no changes are planned

According to recent reports circulating this month Nissan has now committed to at least one more year with the current platform... ie 2017 will be a repeat. We'll have to wait until at least the 2018 model year to see anything new. And what it will be is anyones guess... I'm replacing my 2010 roadster at the end of this year and will buy a '17 model as who knows if they will continue to offer verts!

brucelidat 01-21-2016 02:30 PM

The soonest I would expect a new z would be late next year as a 2018.
