This dude noticed no GT-R in the new nissan commercial. Hmm? Anyway someone else's predictions. Not that serious. Just something for Z lovers. |

Seen the commercials, seen the renderings. Not jumping at it like I did for the 370. 400Hp is a step down for me, twin turbos =517 RWHP. I’ll need to really see it. Putting aside some money but this 400Z has yto be better than my very reliable daily driver; summer and winer.

Just never liked the idea of breaking up the body lines with the silver handles. 2 Z’z owned and both times swapped them out for color matched.
Anyone else getting BRZ from the front of the orange render? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

IF the video, which is what this orange rendering is based from, is true, then I 100% disagree with you on which looks better. But looks are subjective. For me, this rendering is completely void of any real style. Its homogenized. Its a Bud Light or Miller Lite of sports cars. Aka boring. I sincerely hope there is more to the final car than what we are seeing here. But if you think this rendering looks better than the 370, then you and I are on complete opposite ends of spectrum. My father ran a Datsun/Nissan dealership for 20 yrs. I still have connections. Was told awhile ago the new Z was an updated Z34 chassis.

At the same time with modern forums like this, that really doesn't mean much for real truth anymore. When my wife was getting her Pontiac Solstice, because of the forum, I knew more than anyone at any dealers. But enough on that. Let's just agree to disagree about the looks. Cheers. I would have preferred if Nissan went the route they went with the Murano refresh they did for 2019. The Murano has the same boomerang style head and tail lights like the 370Z. 2018 Murano pre-refresh with Xenon projector headlights as seen in existing 370Z: https://cars.usnews.com/static/image...gularfront.jpg 2019 Murano refresh with LED headlights and LED light strips with refreshed fascia: https://cdn.carbuzz.com/gallery-imag...200/629202.jpg Imagine if Nissan did the same with the 370Z. New LED headlight housings with LED light strips as seen in the refreshed Murano and just a more aggressive bumper cover. Would have cost them less too, as it would require almost no retooling as fender and hood shapes would have remained the same. |

We kinda knew the “z35” would be really a “z34.5” since nissan obviously cannot afford to design a new platform from scratch
We’re all waiting to see how far of an evolution from the z34 it turns out to be The z34 was a shortened, widened, lightened z33 Really just give me a drive train to steal |

That's what I was thinking. |
I love my black 370Z and the orange 400Z render is terrific. It is refreshingly clean and minimalistic compared to every other new vehicle these days, which are all overdesigned and have gigantic grills and fake vents all over. I hope they extend the wheelbase slightly so that there is more legroom in the interior.

The true ground-up Z will be the electric Z around 2026. This new 400Z will be the last gasoline powered Z.

Source for this electric Z or is this just unfounded speculation?
Also in regards to the looks, it's simple and elegant, instead of overstyled like so many other vehicles these days. Designers create a "striking" look which grabs attention and, if done right, possibly looks good and modern for a few years, then they drop off a cliff and age terribly. There's a reason Porsche's look good for years and years after they are replaced. Also, are we really saying we wish Nissan just refreshed the boomerang lights as opposed to what they're giving us? |

In my opinion:
The front looks too blunt instead of aerodynamic The rear is nice but unimaginative The sides are missing the 370's wonderful body curves and the wheel flares/ bulges Overall nice but not really head-turning |

A Murano style on the Z would be horrible!
