At this point I would need a phone call from Carlos Ghosn to convince me that there will be a new Z.

PR guy last year said yes!

The Nismo is available from dealerships in Canada.

Did you mean that Canada doesn't get the Nismo as early as other markets?

sgosh 06-13-2016 10:05 AM

Whether I'd buy one would depend on how it feels to drive.

If it turns out to be a baby GT-R, that is, highly computerized to protect the driver from his/her poor driving skills, I'd have to pass.

If it retains some of what makes the current generation such fun to drive, i.e., the raw, slightly unpolished feeling, I'd go for it.

UNKNOWN_370 posted a great link that sums up what I don't like about a lot of current cars, which I will repost here: BMW 435i. While it's about BMW, I think the principle applies to many modern vehicles.

Not that I keep up too much with Canadian news, so if you have updated information. You can feel free to correct.

But I'm talking about how 2012 was the last year for Canadian Nismo's.but it looks like with the Nismo refresh. You got them back.

If you're Canadian? I would expect u know this They did stop selling Nismos in Canada for 2 years. That's why I asked in the last post if something changed I don't know about....

Obviously it did

To be honest, Nissan's supply-chain decisions were completely off my radar until Dec 2015, which is when I went shopping for, and bought, my Z. It's the only reason I had any idea the Nismo was available up here.

Welp guess that's settled. It's like the groundhog seeing it's shadow. Another year of waiting maybe more

Looks like the yellow is making a come back. Perhaps this is full circle and will be the last year.

Hey, look at it this way, more time to save for a nice down payment, especially if it is in the $60,000 range.

JC-Nismo 06-14-2016 10:51 PM

Wow, so there's not even a Nismo version offered in 2017.

Agree.

I would, so long as it has the credentials to back up it's asking price. Knowing Nissan though.....it probably won't.

The Z32 TT was a $35,000 car in 1990. That's 1.03^26 = 2.15; 2.15 x $35,000 ~ $70,000 in 2016 money. The Z32 TT price was unprecedented, especially for a Japanese sports car then. But people were buying them.

Love the math by the way.

Even though I started this Thread a while back, I assumed it was going to be 60K due to "Rumors" and "Magazines" talking about it back then....

Now that the new 2017 Q60 is going to be released at 40-50k Tops (Guessing according to the previous gen) I highly doubt it that the Z35 is going to be $60K.
