If you couldn't say anything, I wish you just hadnt mentioned anything. This whole thread that started way back when has been dying for info, and finally one of our own MAY have something, but you cant tell us? Thanks bud.

I don't think you mean that. I think you - and many others (me included) - are gagging for any snippets of hope, however small.

Just one word of caution. My prediction of a Tokyo Autoshow concept reveal is pure guesswork on my part, so it may possibly be a big letdown. Anything that's not guesswork is also not allowed under the NDA.

Sorry I can't say more - I feel your pain.

Sorry to say this gang, but I can't see how Nissan can bring out a brand new Z at this time. They'd just be lucky to survive.

Or......you could argue that now is exactly the time to release a new Z. Pump excitement into the brand to help counter the negative impact of the bad PR.

MZ DAIZY 09-21-2019 08:42 AM

Geez... I thought for sure those nifty stickers and really ugly two tone paint job was going to pull them out of their death spiral.

Oh well, I guess that’s why I don’t run Nissan either.

3 more weeks until the Tokyo Motor Show, lets see if that one member is full of it.

You’re ignoring the cost of developing a new platform and the lack of sales for sports cars as a whole

toyota most recently with the supra showed how big an undertaking it is; they had to partner to get it done

kind of like the same thing toyota did for the fr-s, partnered up with subaru.

280driver 10-03-2019 12:25 PM

That’s assuming they build a new platform. My guess is that they use the current Q60 platform.

280driver 10-10-2019 05:42 AM

We are getting close to the Tokyo show and I’m not hearing anything. You’d think they would tease something at this point right? Anyone know something? Chubbs?

Rusty 10-10-2019 10:08 PM

All I hear is crickets.

Zezus 10-11-2019 08:07 AM

Dont worry.
The announcement we will get this year will be a rerun of z32 parts.
Almost as good as a z35 right? Right guys???
oh.

oh.

Z32 parts are cross compatible with s13/s14/s15/r32/r33/r34 so really its like a new silvia and skyline gtr also

If this upcoming earnings report is a bad as the last for Nissan - it's gonna be a very long wait for any revision to the Z. Considering two-seat sports cars aren't profit driving platforms, the Z is pretty much at the bottom of the attention totem pole at Nissan. A pole that's right now driven 20 feet into the ground...

yea people said the same thing for 5 years. we're all aware and make jokes daily on here.

now, we got about a 3-5 day window that we may actually get the news.

i have inside info that was presented to me and also there's a good bit of other people (media) backing it. so we shall see.

i absolutely hate how the new car has been pushed back and away and gave up on it and for once im excited again.

Agree.
But I got some info from Europe. I have a friend who's been working at Nissan in France for a long time and he told me they are not working on a new Z or a new GTR right know.
I could be wrong, I really wanna see an updated model.

dude dont ever listen to anything that comes out of France.

i deal with the French daily and they're utterly useless at everything.

just trust me, my info is pretty solid and it was relayed that the Z is done and release is in 2 years give or take.

possibly.

honestly, if they do not announce/show one this year then i think we can then call it dead and done.

z-ya-later 10-23-2019 02:20 PM

For what it's worth, took my Z to the Nissan dealership a few weeks ago. While I was waiting one of the sales guys (younger guy) asked if I saw their Nismo on sale sitting in the show room and I told him "Yeah but I'm waiting for them to finally put a new model out."

He told me "2 years". He said he couldn't really say anything but "2 years". I laughed and said, "See you in 2 years then." I didn't take him too seriously at the time but seeing other's comments maybe there is some truth to the rumors. At this point I'll believe it when I see it.

Seen the pictures from the auto show. No new Z in the pic's. Unless they are planning a surprise later. The only new Z was ZDay, a suv. :shakes head:
