Got my car back....all seemed okay, then.....

.... what

.... the

... f*ck!!!

car doesn't start....

of course, the first thing I thought was "did I really just bring it in to have them install a defective one?" ....turns out, the asshats just left something on without the motor running and drained the battery. So the rep grabs the battery pack inside so we can jump start the car. Rep comes over and almost put the neg cable to the positive terminal before I stopped him. I've actually seen someone start a car fire this way. Not cool!

......Car starts. then....

.... what

.... the

... f*ck!!!

The tech used a flat head screw driver to pry the panel under the steering wheel off and left a gouge. The right side of the panel won't pop back in. It isn't even attached, just a 1/2" gap where it should be flush.

I'm seriously livid. This is the crappiest work I've ever seen. No respect at all. I also noticed the wheel a bit off center. Can this install mess up the steering wheel alignment? I want to be sure it's unrelated before I speak to management.

...one more thing. The odometer showed 5 more miles than when I brought it in.:shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

Nissan just called me today asking when I was going to fax them my receipt. I faxed it almost two weeks ago and even called to confirm they got it. She looks around and says oh i found it, such incompetence. Then she calls me 10 min later saying I need to take it to a Nissan dealer to close out the recall because I didnt get it repaired through NIssan. I said look at the F n reciept and you can see it was done at a Nissan dealership. Her reply, oh I'll have to call them in the morning. WTF, what kind of freaking morons do they have working for Nissan.

If I can convince Nissan to give me the Rev D SLU instead of installing it (they save the labour), how hard would it be to install. I don't like other people working on my car, especially at dealerships!!

What dealership did you take yours to?

Also, my letter says GT-R/370Z. Does this mean the GT-R is also affected?

You didn't know? As long as she's good looking and has decent sized boobs she has the position as secretary lol.

lmao! this is exactly why I opted for cutting the wire even after this recall happened, nissan can't have any excuse to touch my car now!

They just called me back a few minutes ago to tell me the tech is working on it as we speak. 39k miles on the odometer and they also highly recommend a coolant flush, brake flush and a new cabin air filter which is supposedly really, really dirty......in my '09 Z......which I'm pretty sure didn't come with one :icon14:

They also saw my new tires and recommended an alignment. I can understand if they were the ones to install it, but how the f*** can you tell a car needs an alignment with brand new tires installed? They didn't even drive it as far as I know and it's not pulling left or right.

He almost had me until he said new cabin filter....sneaky bastards. Is wanting not getting scammed into unneccessary work when you come in for a recall too much to ask?

I also got the...It's about time to flush your brake fluid.

At 15K miles? Think I'm good.

raymondo510 03-22-2013 11:58 PM

Just got my full refund today:happydance: Even with the recall tho I will be pulling my fuse TOMORROW

raymondo510 03-22-2013 11:58 PM

O and it only took Nissan a week....Just to rub it in

Got the same letter yesterday

OK guys, just got mine back from my local dealer yesterday. All seems fine so far. Very glad I didn't have the questionable service that some of you have had...very thankful.

So you guys recommend I pull the fuse anyway? I'm thinking I will, but just thought I'd ask.

CMike, what is the latest with your situation. After reading your post, I could not believe what I was reading and seeing. I mean, did the dealership have a 12 year old work on your car? WTF!!??

Did you go directly to the owner of the dealership? How is this being resolved? This is one of the worst Dealership stories I have heard.

I feel for you Bro. I really do hope this dealership makes everything right. You deserve that!!

Cmike2780 03-23-2013 02:58 PM

Spoke to a different service advisor and they're ordering a new panel. I'm still kind of pissed off, but at least it seems like they're trying to make it up. They said the tech is gonna get written up...whatever that means.

In regard to add on services, I really don't understand why they run their business this way, always trying to squeeze money out of you. If they were actually honest to everyone, they'd get more repeat business. I guess it's easier to scam people that don't know any better.

I hear you. Good to hear they are taking care of the situation. Did they at least throw in some free oil changes?

Written up?.......that mechanic should be fired on the spot!! He obviously does not give a ****. :shakes head: That really pisses me off.

Regarding the other services, again I hear you. I totally agree with you, if they act honestly, they will get business and eventually repeat business. They need to EARN that trust.

I am very fortunate. I have a great relationship with my dealership and especially their service dept. They have definitely earned my trust and subsequently, my business. I trust them until they give me a reason not to. So far so good. I wish everyone would have this type of relationship with their dealership.

Again, good luck and all the best to you.
