Consumer affairs just denied my claim as well on a 2010 370z. The lady I spoke to was clueless. Kept saying their were no recalls on my 2010 350z and that my mileage was too high to issue a claim.

Going by what you said, is it possible to take another working steering lock, swap it in, and it's good to go? Does the revision version matter? I read somewhere that it may potentially need to be coded to your remote to work. Can you please advise on this? Thank you |
Thanks to this forum, when the car would not start, this was the first thing I thought of. I entered my cars VIN into the Nissan Recall website and sure enough there is a recall for this exact problem. To get the car running, I tapped the steering lock mechanism several times (while holding the start button in) with a rubber mallet until the car started, then drove straight to the dealer. Also, I called to make sure they had the part in stock before heading over. Excellent service from the dealer.
