Default Steering wheel wear

Just bought an 09 370. Noticed that that the steering wheel leather is flaking off and has been worn down quite a bit.

Anyone have any experience with this. I am wondering if this is a warranty issue.

Basically if I rub a spot on the wheel black flakes come off.

Thanks

I doubt that it's covered under warranty. I'm guessing the previous owner had sweaty palms.

I recently took my car in after noticing small cracks in the steering wheel leather. The dealer said they'd replace it once for me. That's all I wanted. Got a new wheel.

If it's had a lot of use and has been exposed to a lot of sun then that's just normal wear. Probably a good excuse to send it off to get it re-wrapped with CF and alcantara or leather.

Sounds like the work of a white nuckle driver.

Good to hear it all worked out. Previous owner probably did not take care of the leather at all.
