My trunk/hatch won't open on my FIRST release button.
After I press it once I need to lift the trunk then press the button again.
What to do?

Yes, there is a TSB out for this problem. The springs are either too short or too weak and will not release the hatch from the latch on the first attempt. You usually have to hit the release button again and pull up.

The TSB replaces the springs with longer/stronger ones.

Also there is the penny trick, put like 3 pennies in each (spring lift) and you hatch will open in the first try

The problem with that is you end up wearing out the spring after a while.

I would do a search for the TSB on the forum, print it out, and take the car to the dealer and let them know this is what you're experiencing.
