i was told there is a box in the car that can tell them what speeds you have broke in the car. whether you are racing or not if they feel that you were racing then your warranty is voided. But just going by that i would say they are being an *** if they void your warranty.

You were lied to. That does exist on the GTR, however. Talked to a dealer about how a GTR he sold came in for an early checkup (like 500 miles or some smalllll number) and it had already seen 158. Warranty is still in tact.

The dealer is NOT considered to be a race sponsor by any stretch of your imagination. The act isn't going to cover racing breakdowns.

Step 1. Track your car
Step 2. Exerience problems
Step 3. Dealer machanic looks at car
Step 4. Sees usual wear and tear for miles
Step 5. Dealer clams abuse and voids warranty
Step 6. You argue with dealer
Step 7. You hire lawyer...Dealer hires better group of lawyers
Step 8. Dealer ties case up in court for so long you can't aford to fight it anymore

Bottom line: unless this becomes a problem across all Nissan Dealerships and a class action suit is started you are at the dealers mercy.

I had a previous car that had some work done to it (cai, cat-back exhaust, exhaust headers). Pin in the diff came out, blew a hole through the trans. I put everything back to stock and brought it in to the dealer. They fixed it but told my parents (this was a few years back and it was under their name) that the car had been 'hot rodded' and they fixed the trans but dont come back. Further talks: they could tell by the exhaust header bolts not being rusted on and coming off so easily. Parents denied it had been hot rodded, but the dealership claim stood.

Later I put a 50 shot on the car. Brought it in to have the acc belt replaced, they noted on the ticket that there was nitrous. That information quickly spread and I found myself banned from 5 local dealerships.

Lessons learned.

I'm really trying to understand why some of you folks really think the manufacturer should be responsible for the abuse you inflict to your car??? Where the f* are you getting your ingrained non-accountability mechanisms from that seem to plague you people????

IF the .gov, religion, military, clergy, parents, teachers, friends, lovers, foxnews/media and stephen colbert can all lie to us and get away with it, then why can't we lie to the 'man' and get away with it?!

Subvert the proletariat. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall! Fear the monkey with money. The streets will flow with the blood of the non-believers!

Kind of beats the purpose of advertising "Nothing is as fast as a Z" when you can't even go fast with the car.

just do not tell them you went to the track.
But don't think the dealership is stupid either, if you go in with really worn rubber, you can tell easily lol. But other than that, just say you were driving spiritedly in the hills or something...
