Mine has been under cover in my garage all winter. I'll have to wait another couple of months before I see my Rev.B steering lock fails...

If I were you is go out and start it everyday until it fails. Might as well get it fixed while you're not using it

you dont have to even start the engine. just hit starter button once and you will hear the steering-lock motor winding noise. then 2 more push (Off) you will hear the steering lock again.

but each cycle activates the fuel pump, etc. so not sure if you want to keep doing that.

Yeah, I was just going to let it run its course. I'll know exactly what's going on when it happens. I have CAA (AAA) so a tow will be looked after. Not too worried, crap happens. lol

I was expecting Nissan to have done something about this issue by the time I pulled my car out of storage though.

Did anyone else receive an email from Nissan Consumer Affairs for a customer satisfaction survey?

This is how I responded:

I am still dissatisfied with Nissan's reluctance to address the issue with REV A, B and C steering wheel lock failures in the 2009 and early 2010 370z. this exact same part was recalled in the GTR for failures and many people are currently experiencing problems with the part failing at great inconvenience to the consumer. On the forums online that I frequent every day there are new complaints about their steering wheel locks failing. I hope that Nissan decides to address this issue in the very near future.

Good response. We can't let Nissan off the hook for the way they are handling this known problem.

I traded my 370z in on a Wrangler after that ********. My car had JUST ran out of warranty by about 2000 miles when this happened. I called Nissan and they wouldn't budge on it. I had to pay $1200 out of pocket just to have it still to a point where maybe it could happen again at any point, F that.

I've had two Altima's before that and my mother also drives an Altima, I told them I would never drive another Nissan again and they couldn't care less. I filled out that survey with great anger, lol.

That's exactly the response I got when speaking with Nissan consumer affairs. I have owned 8 nissans including 5 Z's. I'll keep the two Z's I have because they are paid off, but, as of right now, I will not buy another Nissan ever again.

I've had nothing but trouble with my Z. I'm about fed up. It's on its third tranny, took it in three times to get a rattle fixed, trunk latch sticks every time I open it, it runs out of gas when it still has 60 miles of range reading on the display, and now I'm left stranded at radio shack in -4 degree windshield because it won't start. The key light is on and not even acc turns on. Looks like a bunch of people are having this problem and from what I've been reading I'll probably have to have it towed...for the third time since I've owned it.
If there was just another car out there that was as good looking and fast and as cheap as this one...
Very dissatisfied...
