There are some adjustments on the hatch "snubbers" that adjust to take the slack out of the mechanism. Try unscrewing them a turn and see what happens. May be too

There are some adjustments on the hatch "snubbers" that adjust to take the slack out of the mechanism. Try unscrewing them a turn and see what happens. May be too much movement in the truck lid.
Let us know what you find. I tried looking in my FSM (factory service manual) and can't seem to find an exploded view of the trunk mechanism...
