Default Starting Car Issue

Need some help
I am going crazy trying to figure out what is going on in with my Z. I have 2010 with 40k miles on it and mainly it's just mainly a weekend car. I have an invidia CB along with a K&N intake, installed over a yr ago. From time to time I start my car it powers up then shuts off ( revs normal). My battery was a little low after getting it tested so decided to start there and swap it out. I was hoping this was the problem but of course 10 minutes after I leave the dealership it does it again after I stop at dunkin donuts. They tested the alternator and starter and said there was no issue with either. I also do not have any CEL. AFter hitting the start button a few times the car goes on fine. Also sometimes I give it some gas at the same time. I had my steering wheel lock done 6months ago so I can rule that out. My K&N filters are clean, I blew them out a week ago to see if that helps. Any other suggestions, it's a shitty feeling to have such a good car that everyone stares at then you go to start it up and it fails!! The car drives perfectly fine. Could my MAF sensors be dirty. I do have an extended warranty but I prefer to avoid having them pick apart my car. Would appreciate any help

Modern cars are pretty good at diagnosing themselves. Get an OBD scanner and see if any DTCs have been thrown.

I agree you could have Imbedded codes or pending codes that do not turn the MIL light on just yet.A good reader or the torque app with the nissan advanced feature might help.

I had it scanned and only got a code for tire pressure. For once I was hoping to find a relevant code

I cleaned the maf sensors yesterday and so far so good. I only got to drive about 50miles and started it up five times and it seems ok. Tomorrow i am going to take longgggg drive. If it happens again I am going to put the extended warranty to work. Only thing left would be fuel pump

Took mine to dealer today and they said that since i disconnected battery recently they need to reset the throttle learning thingy then it will run ok.

I ll keep you posted on whether or not mine starts acting up again. I really hope these are the fixes. It's a shitty feeling worrying if your car is going to shut down on ya somewhere. I also have a 2005 scion tc with 190k miles and to this day nothing crazy just basic issues. Drives me crazy lol

Default Update

Well it's been two weeks with no problems and today it did it again. I got an extended warranty and im gonna take a trip to the dealership. I ruled out battery and maf sensor. Still no check engine light or codes. Should be a fun trip the dealership. Anyone have any other suggestions? Ive had my k&n and exhaust for over a year and no problems at all. Fuel pump?

Hey keep me posted on this, i got my z certified pre owned 5 months ago and it started doing the same exact thing. i have a 2010 aswell, 70k miles. It like once a month or so would have issues just like yours. After trying to start it a few times it runs perfectly. Friends suggest i should either replace spark plugs or clean them along with throttle body

i have not, considering this issue is happening to older year z's like 2010 im assuming its just the spark plugs and or the TB in need of cleaning. I plan on tackling that soon when i have time. I will let you guys know when i do and the outcome
