![]() ![]() ![]() there was at some point a company out there that made a module for the 350 that allowed you to put the windows up with the remote. I have a Vert with the SmartTop module and it lets me roll down/up the windows as well as the top using the factory fob. Second favorite mod on the car...

OK, so now my windows have done this twice... Go outside to find them completely down, uugghh!!
The fob resides on my desk while at home, not ever inside my pocket, so no chance that it's being mistakenly depressed. WTF?!?! Now I'm paranoid... |

My question is this: If I accidentally pressed the door unluck button on the fob, making the windows go down, why were the doors still locked? |

Opening windows
The UNLOCK button operation also allows you to open a window that is equipped with the automatic open/close function. (See “POWER WINDOWS” in the “2. Instruments and controls” section.) To open the window, push the door UNLOCK button*2 on the Intelligent Key for about 3 seconds after the door is unlocked. |

A 25 year old daughter that lives 700 miles away... ;-P
Seriously though, I've had vehicles with key fobs for years and never had an issue where I've accidentally engaged the buttons at all. Wondering if the key fob for my other vehicle parked next to the Z is somehow triggering the windows. |

Young kids love pushing buttons.Could be a possible interference issue of some sort is possible I suppose. But given that it is supposed to be a encrypted signal I don't think spurious interference should do anything. It is possible that the fob itself is defective and is detecting that the button is held when it is really just sitting there. If you have 2 fobs try leaving the battery out of one of them for a while and see what happens.

I purchased a 2010 370 Z Roadster this past December and twice while the car is sitting on the parking lot at work both windows have fully opened. Someone came in and said did you leave your windows down on purpose. Has anyone else had this problem?

You are pressing (and holding) the unlock button on the fob. Probably when you sit down with the fob in your pocket.

I wear pocket t-shirts, usually under a regular shirt. I keep my fob in the t-shirt pocket because of this problem. When I kept it in my pants pocket like previous keys I found I was accidentally pressing the button and lowering the windows. Hasn't happened since I moved my fob to my shirt pocket.

Yes it happened to me a while back.....And it had rained overnight....
Not so good for leather interiors... Lucky they only went down 2 inches and not all the way.. So now the key fob sits on the counter and NEVER in my pocket....

Its happened to me twice now. The first time I came out and found the windows rolled down. The second time it definately wasn't pushing any buttons on the fob (living alone, no pets, fob sitting on a table inside well away from the car). It was pretty strange, I was about 1/2 way through planting a flowerbed along the driveway when I hear some motors start running behind me. I turned around and watched both the windows roll down. It was pretty annoying because I had to get cleaned up because the windows wouldnt roll up again unless I had the fob on me and the ingnition in the run mode.
Of course, it isn't repeatable so no troubleshooting : ( O |
