370Z Roadster Antenna

It unscrews from the outside. Just twist it a little harder.

Default Honda S2000 Antenna

All here seem to prefer the 3" JDM stubby, but I think I might prefer then 7" Honda S2000 antenna to replace my roadster's 11.5" OEM monstrocity. The S2000 antenna is promoted on eBay and elsewhere as a fit for the 370Z roadster. Is it? I'm particularly concerned about the base mount (is the diameter the same as the OEM mount?).

vifferman, I got the one from ebay, you get like 3 sizes of little threaded rods, pick the one that fits the z, thread it in and screw it on! Your done!! 30 secs.

I wasn't asking about the thread fit. My question is "does the 7" Honda S2000 antenna fit the 370Z in terms of the bottom diameter matching that of the 370Z's antenna base?" Again, I actually prefer the 7-inch S2000 shaft to the stubby 3-inch replacement that you and others seem to like. Hasn't anyone tried the Honda S2000 antenna? (would swear that it was mentioned in some earlier posts, but my search came up empty).

I am almost 100% sure that the s2000 antenna fits as well as the stubby one. I was torn between the 2 as well. The Honda one looks more OEM than the 3" one but once I got the shorter, I liked the way it looked and left it at that.

So what's stopping me from removing the factory antenna, cutting it to the desired length, and gluing a black rubber nipple cap on the exposed end?

Seems like it would be a five minute mod and no expense...I never use AM/FM anyway so looks would trump reception for me.

Sorry Jme370, but contrary to your "almost 100%" confidence level, the Honda S2000 antenna is not a perfect fit for the 370ZR. Took delivery today, and (as I recall reading in an earlier post) the base of the S2000 antenna shaft is just slightly larger than the 370ZR's base mount. The overage is slight (just a millimeter or so), and I can live with it as the overall fit and appearance is a big improvement over Nissan's OEM monstrocity. Again, I much prefer this 7" antenna over the 3" stubby that others seem to prefer, and I'm hopeful that it may offer better AM/FM reception as well (will test and report the results at a later date).

I would much rather have the S2k antenna, as long as it still pulls in a decent reception.

My stubby antenna receives FM signals almost as good as the oem.

Has anyone out there tried this antenna?

OEM Honda Short Antenna 370Z BMW Z3 Z4 Corolla Matrix - eBay (item 290540435978 end time Apr-30-11 15:47:23 PDT)

Not quite as short as the 3 inch stubby one but also doesn't look nearly as long as the huge OEM antenna. I didn't have very good luck myself with the 3 inch one that everyone has recommended. Mine broke during install. The top (i.e. the 3 inch shaft attached to the base) slips off so easily now.

This is the antenna that doesn't fit the base perfectly but does thread on and will have better reception than the 3" for sure.

Just installed the 3" antenna. No change in reception and the car looks much better.

+1 on the 3" antenna from e-bay. Looks great, no reception issues.
